Harry Bingham: 'This Little Britain'

An interesting and ambitious foray into the world of non-fiction by the already well established author Harry Bingham, 'This Little Britain' seeks to document and argue the reasons why Great Britain is worthy of its name. Covering almost every angle, from economics to language and even war and law, This Little Britain is a light hearted journey through some very serious events and discoveries. Have you ever wondered why or how our little island has had such a colossal influence on the entire world? The chances are that the answers to your questions are in this book.

Ranging from jovial fact pellets to leviathan essays delving into the depths of the history of common law, Harry Bingham presents us with a fascinating portrayal of a nation with a history to be proud of. Cunningly sidestepping negligible issues and detailing failures only when comically necessary, this book could be seen as one sided, but then that would be missing the point, because this book IS one sided – joyously and unashamedly so – and seeks to give a lovely warm slant on our modern existence. Occasionally overbearing, with complex social events smashed into a couple of paragraphs, but always entertaining, This Little Britain is a great read, and something to be proud of.
