Doctor Who returns in audio-exclusive story

'Pest Control', the first Doctor Who audio-exclusive story to be published by BBC Audiobooks, will be released on 8th May 2008. The title, read by David Tennant, will be available on CD and on download and will not be published as a book.

The story was commissioned from the author Peter Anghelides and is one of the first pieces of published fiction to feature the character Donna Noble (played by Catherine Tate in the television series) as the Doctor’s companion. The exciting narrative is accompanied by an atmospheric original soundtrack and thrilling sound effects created by Simon Hunt.

The Doctor and Donna face monstrous insects and a ruthless robot exterminator in this thrilling, exclusive audio story, read by David Tennant. The TARDIS is lost in battle on a distant planet. When the Doctor sets off in pursuit, Donna is left behind, and finds herself accepting a commission in the Pioneer Corps.

Something is transforming soldiers into monstrous beetles, and she could be the next victim! Soon comes the arrival of a brutal and remorseless mechanical exterminator, bent on wiping out the insects. This robot’s solution for the infestation is very simple: kill everything!
