The Inbetweeners: Series 3

Any show that boasts the line "I'm gonna fuck your fucking fanny off, you twat!" has got to be worthy of some attention, right?

Series 3 of the E4 hit - which scored record viewing figures this year for the channel – doesn’t mess about with the previously established formula. The Inbetweeners is still about four "boys" (we use the word hesitantly as the actors are now in their mid-20s) creating embarrassment and cringes in the wake of their quest for sex (or blowjobs).

Hearty laughs are felt from the get-go, with the outing of Simon's testicle in the first episode through to the "giant" girl willing to perform certain acts on Will, to the awkward sexual liaison between Simon and Tara whilst Neil pisses the bed. With every giggle there's ever increasingly inventive moments of humiliation that you just can't bear to watch.

There's a marvellous quality to the denouement of the series, set to be the last (though E4 might have something to say about that), as the boys walk off, not into the sunset, but into the moonlight. There’s no great final revelations or shocks, just good old-fashioned LOLs.

Extras-wise, this is a feast for fans. In fact, it's a feast even for the non-partisan viewer too. Double points are awarded to the team for producing at least one commentary for every episode. The ones featuring "The Boys", as the DVD menu calls them, are particularly hilarious with as many chortles, sometimes more, than the story they're chatting about.

The working relationship between all involved is clearly congenial, with the commentaries and the video diaries demonstrating not only how relaxed the cast and crew are, but also how much fun they have.

Now, when's that movie coming out?
