Grandma's House - Series 1 episode guide
TV presenter Simon Amstell stars as a TV presenter who is quitting his job to try to do something more meaningful with his life in BBC Two's new comedy Grandma's House.
The show also stars Rebecca Front (Nighty Night) as Simon's mum, Tanya, a larger-than-life single woman who's looking for love and who dotes on her famous son. Linda Bassett (Larkrise To Candleford) plays Grandma.

Episode 1: The Day Simon Told His Family About His Important Decision

Each episode is set at Grandma's house, where Simon's family regularly congregate to catch up. Everything happens under the watchful eye of Grandma, who is desperate to see everything going well.
Episode 2: The Day Simon Decided It Might Be A Nice Idea To Surprise His Mother With A Gift

Simon has brought his mum, Tanya, an extravagant gift which she refuses to accept. Simon is also trying to convince her that maybe she shouldn’t marry Clive. Meanwhile, it’s Liz's birthday but nobody seems to care. Grandad has news from the doctor about his cancer scare and Simon has decided he might write a play for the theatre. However, his family isn't impressed.
Episode 3: The Day Simon Announced That He Was In Control Of The Universe

Simon has fallen in love. Simon has also read a book which leads him to believe that he might be able to control the universe. The family isn't impressed though. Meanwhile, Grandpa has invited Deborah Adler to visit but Grandma doesn't like her and is less than happy. And Liz has had to take extreme measures to try to get her son, Adam, into a new school.
Episode 4: The Day Simon Decided He Was Forlorn

Simon is depressed and having a life crisis, and the situation is exacerbated when a guest he interviewed on his show attacks him in the press. Tanya prepares to move into Clive's house, and Grandma and Grandpa plan a cruise.
Episode 5: The Day Simon Felt The Family Was Ready To Be Healed

Following a life-changing course, Simon decides it is his job to heal his family, and he begins by giving Grandpa an exercise ball. However, when his relatives discover he has organised a surprise for them, they become fearful of what Grandma might do to him. Meanwhile, Tanya realises that Clive may not be the right man for her.
Episode 6: The Day Simon Finally Found The Strength To Accept That His Mother Was Getting Married

Grandpa is taken ill, throwing Tanya and Clive's marriage plans into disarray, so Grandma tries to resolve the situation, Meanwhile, Liz has a favour to ask Simon, which might help Adam sort out his schooling problems.
