Go, Go LazyTown!
No one’s lazy in LazyTown. Which is quite a feat considering only three of the characters appear to have legs. Each slightly eerie episode of this propaganda fest extolling the virtues of hyperactivity runs for a full 25 minutes, requiring a good sit down from its viewers. Clearly, children’s programming is doing its bit for childhood obesity.
As Sportacus somersaults and flips around unnecessarily (he can’t even get an apple from a fruit dispenser without doing a full Olympic gymnast routine) Stephanie shakes her pink wig and randomly bursts into Eurotrash style pop numbers. Robbie Rotten, villainly in his sloth, gets pretty active gurning and prat falling, while the other characters, inexplicably made out of plasticine, wobble about the place under the weight of their one character trait. Easily dismissable all this nonsense may be, but the songs are real stickers, worming into the most resistant of brains. Never seen a kid actually move around to them yet, though.
Extras: Bonus feature and three sing-alongs.
