Christmas is coming… and Lola is ever so, extremely excited! Fans can join their favourite brother and sister duo in the festivities this November as BBC Worldwide release the latest in the comical Charlie and Lola DVD collection. Charlie And Lola 8 is due in all good retailers on 12th November, priced £12.99.
The multi award winning Charlie and Lola series, produced by Tiger Aspect Productions and based on the critically acclaimed books by Lauren Child, explores that special bond between young siblings. Seven year old Charlie and his four year old sister Lola encounter little issues with big imaginations as they face childhood challenges together. Charlie is always on hand with brotherly support for lively little Lola, helping her to overcome issues such as preparing for a Christmas that is just right, when things start going a little wrong!
Entertaining extras on the DVD include two funny outtakes and a short music video entitled “It’s Snowing”.

• How many more minutes until Christmas
Lola is ever so, extremely excited because Christmas is coming and they are taking it in turns to open the advent calendar. After 24 days of hiccups and happy preparations, Christmas carolling and making things… everything looks set for the perfect Christmas. Until Lola discovers that there is no door for Christmas Day! Christmas has completely disappeared and definitely is not going to happen!
Desperate to find out what is going on, Charlie and Lola scramble inside the advent calendar and confirm their worst fears. Christmas has indeed ground to a halt. Father Christmas helpers, the Elves, have run out of wrapping paper. It’s a total disaster! Or is it?
• Charlie is broken
Charlie and Lola’s well rehearsed circus act for Granny and Grandpa is put in jeopardy when poor Charlie breaks his arm playing football with Marv. Lola and Soren Lorensen try to nurse him back to health and cheer him up. But will Lola find anything for poor “broken” Charlie to do in the circus?
• I completely know about guinea pigs
Mrs Hanson has chosen Lola to look after Bert, the class guinea pig, for the school holidays. Lola makes sure she knows everything about guinea pigs. That is everything except where to find him when Bert the guinea pig totally and utterly disappears!
• I spy with my little eyes
Charlie and Marv go swimming, Lola decides to play “Spies” with her imaginary friend Soren Lorenson. The two intrepid detectives spy a removal van outside the flats and they become convinced that a big Ogre is moving in next door! Then they change their minds… it’s not an Ogre, it’s a wolf! Or perhaps a whole family of hungry wolves!! When Charlie comes home he says that’s impossible, Wolves can’t possibly be moving in next door! He decides to sort things out once and for all. But who will answer the door?
• I am really really really concentrating
It’s Lola’s first ever school sport’s day and, after much deliberation, she decides to enter the Egg and Spoon race - the most difficult race of all. How is she ever going to keep her egg on her spoon?! The answer is concentration … and lots of it!
• I really wonder what plant I am growing
Charlie is growing a big tomato plant and Lola wants to grow something too. Mum gives her a seed and Lola can’t help but imagine a whole host of exotic and exciting plants that her seed might grow into: a biscuit plant or a butterfly plant or maybe even a singing plant! Charlie tries to teach her that first of all she has to learn to look after her plant… but Lola’s is far too excited. She can’t wait to see what her seed may grow into!
• I am extremely magic
Charlie is Magic. Lola knows this for a fact. He has a new magic set and he can make coins appear from behind her ears! Lola wants to be magic too. She practices and practises and practises, but the magic just doesn’t seem to work and she cannot make her magic white rabbit disappear. Then suddenly something magic really happens!
