Grange Hill, the classic BBC drama serial that portrays the ups and downs of life in a mixed comprehensive school in London, is one of British televisions longest running programmes and was first shown on screens back in 1978.

Both DVD boxsets include the added feature of a Grange Hill Quiz to test fans’ knowledge of the legendary show.

Fans, both new and old, can enjoy this nostalgic collection, as the following will be available from all good retailers:

Grange Hill Series 1 & 2

Starting from the very beginning, this five DVD boxset includes nine episodes from Series one and 18 episodes from Series two. First broadcast in 1978 and 1979, viewers are introduced to the infamous characters of Grange Hill, including, among others, Todd Carty as Tucker Jenkins.

Series 1 introduced us to Tucker, then a mere slip of a lad who - with his cohorts Alan and Benny - waged war on school anti-Christ Michael Doyle. This first year arguably peaked with chess champion Justin Bennett taking a tumble off a wall and breaking his leg.

Series 2 The following year new Head Mr Llewellyn joined and the foundation of SAG (Students' Action Group) - the first of many 'Hill pressure groups. The first salvos were launched in the great Grange Hill vs Brookdale war.

Grange Hill Series 3 & 4

This six DVD boxset includes 16 episodes from Series 3 and 18 episodes from Series 4, which were first broadcast in 1980, and 1981. They feature, among others, Todd Carty as Tucker Jenkins.

Series 3 1980 saw the first new swathe of pupils roll in. Pogo Patterson, Duane Orpington et al were at the vanguard of GH's next generation. And there was more plummeting this year - Anthony Karamanopolis fell from another high wall resulting in the 'Hill's first depiction of death.

Series 4 "Slip on the wet floor did you?" became "Bullet" Baxter's seminal moment in the fourth series when he took revenge on evil PE teacher Mr Hicks who'd got violent with Stewpot. There was to be a new helm at the rudder too, as "Bridgit the Midget" McClusky arrived.
