Ashley Jensen and Max Beesley star in The Reckoning for ITV1

Ashley Jensen (Extras) and Max Beesley (Hotel Babylon) will lead the cast of ITV1's new two-part thriller The Reckoning.

What's it about?

Ashley Jensen plays single mum Sally Ronson, who is faced with a “life or death” proposition when she is offered £5 million from an anonymous benefactor. But in order to obtain the money Sally must first “kill a man who deserves to die”.

Max Beesley plays Sally’s boyfriend Mark, an ex-copper who now works as a security guard and also becomes entangled in seeking out the man Sally is supposed to kill.

Sophie Stucky (The Dark) plays Sally’s 15 year old daughter Amanda, who is stricken with a brain tumour and needs a life saving operation in America which Sally and Mark are unable to afford. Sally is tormented by the decision she has to make. If she kills a man who deserves to die her much-loved daughter will live…

Written by Chris Lang (Torn), The Reckoning is currently filming at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire and will be broadcast on ITV1 in early 2011.
