After waking from a coma in a deserted hospital, Rick Grimes, a Sherriff's deputy, finds the world he knew gone. A zombie epidemic of apocalyptic proportions has ravaged America leaving it in a state of sheer crisis. Rick embarks on a dangerous journey to Atlanta to find his missing wife and son. Rick and the other survivors struggle to hold onto their humanity whilst trying to battle against the "walkers" But we wonder whether ultimately those left can survive the biggest threat- their fellow survivors?
