Tomb Raider: Underworld launch day - Photo blog
To celebrate the release of Tomb Raider: Underworld next month, we spent yesterday (13th October 2008) over at Luton Hoo Croft Manor for a sneak preview of the game and a general day of action-packed fun, Lara-style.
09.30 - Along with 60 other gaming journos, our coach departs from London, following a strict warning that we are fordbidden to take any photos of Lara's crotch.
10:30 - We arrive at Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire, a 1000 acre luxury hotel (£850 per night if you fancy staying there over Christmas)...

...complete with the latest Lara Croft, Alison Carroll, waiting to welcome us...

10.50 - We head to this small understated conference room for a presentation of the game...

Okay, enough playing it down already - LOOK AT THE CEILING!

Eric Lindstrom, the game's creative director, finally shows us what we've been waiting for - a look at Tomb Raider: Underworld in action...

Our knowledge of gaming pretty much begins and ends with GoldenEye on the N64, but the game looked really rather awesome to us. In fact we were so impressed that it might even tempt us back to the world of gaming after our ten-year hiatus.
11.20 - While Eric does interviews, we sneak off for a nose around Lara's pad...

12.30 - We are called to the conference room for a Very Important Announcement. A gun-wielding Lara appears: "Lunch will now be served."

14.30 - The fun stuff begins: first up, Argo mink tanks! (Yes, it feels like you're going a lot faster when you're actually in them.)

15.00 - Dagger throwing!

15.30 - Laser-guided clay pigeon shooting!

16.00 - Archery!

16.30 - And, saving the best for last... outdoor laser quest!

5.30 - Exhausted, we head back to Croft Manor where Lara/Alison shows off some nifty action moves before we make our way home...

Tomb Raider: Underworld will be released on 21st November 2008 for PC, PS2, Playstation 3, Nintendo DS, Wii and Xbox 360.
