Little Britain: The Only Game In The Village
DVD games rarely work at the best of times, but this callous cash-in represents the absolute nadir of both the technical aspects of the linear game style and the poor production values (with its zero replayability), so it feels nothing more than a money grabbing exercise in the run up to Christmas.
The greatest issue is that there is no ability to move outside the confines of the 2 player, 7 day based game, and what's worse is that were you to start again from the beginning the questions are exactly the same replete with identical idents, so effectively as soon you've played through the game once, that's your lot.
The most significant issue, however, is that the teeth have been ripped out of the more satiricial and adult side of the show, with a tame PG-like approach to the questions (many of them both being ridiculously inane and nothing to do with the show itself!) so that those looking for the vicarious thrills that the series once offered are treated to a playground-friendly by-the-numbers approach. Tom Baker does his best with the tedium-inducing scripting of his once funny narrator and Walliams and Lucas ape appropriately in front of blue screens for their cash, but never has a tie-in felt like such a rip off.
