Chronos Twin (Nintendo DS)
Ever tried to play two platform games at once? Probably not unless you've got a couple of extra arms. Well, that's what Chronos Twin is all about. With a neat use of the Dual-Screen our hero has been simultaneously split between two time periods in order to defeat a time travelling alien invader - the present on the top screen and the past on the bottom.
Heavy on the multitasking, at first you'll be playing with kid gloves, gently nudging the character sideways to avoid any unpleasant surprises, but in no time at all you'll be dodging fireballs on one screen whilst shooting enemies on the other. Sadly the graphics feel slightly unimaginative, looking a bit more like a top end GBA game. To be honest though, your eyes will be flicking from screen to screen so frequently that you wont notice too much.
The only real low points are the poor quality cut scenes, which must have been hastily translated from another language, resulting in dialogue like “A thing came out from nothing. He didn't know who was him.“ The quickly ramped difficulty curve means you'll be driven insane with frustration every now and again, but be warned, this game is highly addictive and well worth the satisfaction of finishing off those tough sections.
