Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary game out soon

Inspired by the first Tomb Raider videogame, originally released in 1996, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a totally new adventure for Lara, faithfully preserving the elements which made the original Tomb Raider such a classic (selling over 7 million copies worldwide), released by Eidos on 7th December 2007. The Tomb Raider series is still one of the best selling videogame franchises of all time with over 32 million copies sold and two major feature films released, starring Angelina Jolie.

Lara Croft has found the perfect partner in the Nintendo Wii in order to bring her tomb raiding adventures to life. Tomb Raider: Anniversary for Wii takes full advantage of the unique Wii controller and delivers special new Wii specific features to make players feel like a real extension of Lara and the exploration and discovery that make Tomb Raider so special. This new game for the Wii gives gamers the opportunity to experience Tomb Raider in a brand new energized way.

New content Exclusive to Wii:

• New Puzzles Exclusive to the Wii - The Wii controller allows for a new dynamic Tomb Raider puzzle experience. Lara now has a whole range of new ways to solve exclusive Wii puzzles to progress through the ruins. • Scribe runes and hieroglyphs in the sand to activate ancient mechanisms.
• Break fragile walls with Lara’s pick axe to find clues and secret areas.
• Uncover clues buried in layers of ancient grime with Lara’s chisel and brush, and make a note of them by taking charcoal rubbings in your journal.
• Flashlight – illuminate dark areas found in the game by pointing and aiming the Wiimote into dark areas like a torch to reveal secrets, clues for puzzles and more. Rolling the Wiimote left or right will change the focus of the beam. If the light flickers shake the Nunchuk to get the light to come back on. The beam will narrow if you twist the Wiimote to allow you to focus on puzzle solutions hidden in the dark. • Archaeologist’s Tool Kit – Get into the role of an adventuring archaeologist with Lara’s new, Wii exclusive tool kit which replicates real archaeologists’ tools. Use movements of Wiimote to mimic hammering, chiselling and brushing away layers of debris to reveal clues and rewards. Take “brass rubbings” of your finds, which will then be displayed back in your mansion.

Wii controls:

• Wiimote and Nunchuk motion: the movement of the Nunchuk and Wiimote supplement the use of the analogue stick to control both Lara and the game camera fluidly and intuitively.
• Fast Traversal: A quick flicking of the Wiimote in the appropriate direction triggers Lara to climb and shimmy along ledges more quickly.
• Grapple: Swing the grapple and watch it go. Use the Nunchuk’s accelerometer to identify your command.
• New active aim combat system exclusive to the Wii. Players can feel like Lara’s weapons are now truly in their hands. Aim the pistols at the screen and fire at the fierce animals and supernatural enemies in the game like wolves, bears, crocodiles, horrific monsters and of course, the T Rex.
• Shake free from enemy clutches: Shake the controller to free Lara from any enemy clutches.
