Stuntman Ignition (PS3)
Set across six entertainingly themed movies, you take the role of a Hollywood stunt driver and take the wheel of over 25 vehicles including motorbikes, trucks, muscle cars and hovercrafts to perform some of the most insane stunt known to man.
After the huge disappointment of the original Stuntman in 2003, it's good to see that they'd made some worthwhile changes for the latest instalment.
Unlike its predecessor, you no longer fail for missing one single stunt marker - you now have 5 strikes. This allows a slight margin of error, which means the sequences feel less frustrating and also cuts down the amount of controllers you throw across the room in a fit of rage. However, the gameplay remains the same and is down to following the director’s instructions, failing, playing again and eventually memorising the route of each stunt sequence. A great addition this time round is the multiplier which allows you to throw in your own reckless stunts, string together a higher combo and aim for those 5 star stunt ratings to impress the director and unlock new film sets.
The movies themselves are well themed for any car chase/stunt enthusiast; everything is parodied here, from The Fast & The Furious to Batman. Each set is filled with smashable objects, explosions and extras that bring the sets alive. If you can get past the crazy idea that anyone would shoot a 3 minute action scene in one take, you'll be in for a sweet stunt filled experience.
