Disaster Movie

Oh please God, no. The directors behind such modern "classics" as Date Movie, Epic Movie and the execrable Meet The Spartans punish us once again with a film that has rightfully been ensconced as one of the all time worst films on IMDB within months of its theatrical release, the aptly named Disaster Movie.

Having been gifted with watching The Love Guru last week I thought it would be impossible in the last days of the year to be visited upon by such a dreadful portmanteau nightmare that would wipe the experience of that aforementioned rancid abomination from my memory so quickly, yet here we are.

Knowing full well that this poor excuse for a film would have little shelf-life beyond the first week of its cinema release and the first few days of sell-through, every plot point and dreadful homage is milked to the death (since there is surely another awful turd of this series planned as we speak) and so the "plot" has a High School Musical-esque Jock, a Juno knock-off (the only mildly diverting aspect of the whole sorry mess) and Kim Kardashian (the *real* Z list celebrity!) locked in a Cloverfield rip-off that seems to go on forever.

Extras: Commentary from Cast and 9 Featurettes: Crew and Girl Fight, The G-Thang Tour, Tastes Like Chicken, This Is How We Do It, Straight From The Ladies, Sitting Down with a Stand-Up, Who's Spoofing Who, HSM SingALong, I'm F'ing Matt Damon.

Released on DVD and Blu-Ray on 19th January 2009 by Momentum Pictures.
