Berwyn Mountains - In 1974 police and mountain rescue teams responded to reports of a loud explosion and strange lights in the sky. Conspiracy theorists believe a UFO crashed and the government covered it up.
Rosslyn Chapel - Popularized in Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code, Rosslyn Chapel is believed by many to be the site where the Knights Templars buried their treasure.
Rendlesham Forest - This forest in Suffolk is site of Britain's best-known UFO encounter in December 1980. UFO enthusiasts still go on skywatches there.
Glastonbury - This Somerset town is the centre of numerous legends, including the theory that Mary Magdalene is buried there.
Ikley Moor - A retired police officer took a photo on Ilkley Moor that some people believe to show an extraterrestrial.
Bonnybridge - This Scottish town near Edinburgh has been a UFO hotspot since the Nineties. A local councillor wants to twin the town with Roswell.
Bodmin Moor - The Beast of Bodmin has been seen and photographed several times. Many people believe it is a puma, lynx or some other big cat.
Exmoor - Numerous big cat sightings have been reported in this desolate North Devon Moor.
Broad Haven - This Pembrokeshire town was the centre of a UFO flap in 1977 and many children at the primary school saw a UFO land and witnessed a figure in a spacesuit.
Alton Barnes - This tiny Wiltshire village has seen more crop circles than anywhere else in Britain.
Cannock Chase - This area of Staffordshire has been the site of numerous UFO sightings and ghostly encounters.
London - Disproving the theory that UFOs are seen exclusively in the country, MoD UFO files show there are more sightings in the capital than anywhere else.
Borley Rectory - Until it was destroyed by fire in 1939, this rectory in the Essex village of Borley had a reputation as the most haunted house in Britain.
Pluckley - This small village in Kent is sometimes known as the most haunted village in the UK.
The Tower of London - The most haunted building in the country today.
