Plastiscines: ‘Bitch’
No, not a Meredith Brooks cover / flashback to the ‘90s. While this ‘Bitch’ may also be a guitar-laden anthem, it’s a fervent response to Plastiscines’ male detractors and a snapshot of France’s ‘bebes rockers’.
Yes, this is a group of hot young French girls with guitars, which already ticks most indie boys’ wish lists. Add to that a riff as casually slick as a café-dwelling Parisian, and a gimmicky hook of "B-I-T-C-H" to get the pop crowds shouting back, and there’s no reason why Plastiscines can’t build Anglo-French bridges.
Nothing new in either subject matter or delivery, ‘Bitch’ is nevertheless a catchy, punchy and welcome single by four talented femmes fatales.
