Joseph And The Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
Having come back to the limelight thanks to a certain reality TV show, Joseph is one of the most enduring musicals to have been penned by the Lloyd Webber/Rice partnership.
Initially created specifically for schools to be able to perform, with straightforward keys and simple melodies and story, it's become something of an institution as each generation comes home with a songbook caterwauling 'Any Dream Will Do'. This version in from the 1999 production with the esteemed cast of Donny Osmond, Richard Attenborough and Joan Collins, to name but a few. Essentially a tale of jealousy and eventual forgiveness, the songs are ones you never knew you knew and the faces familiar and all very gifted. One of those DVDs you keep at the back for a rainy Sunday afternoon, Joseph feels nostalgic even if you've never seen it before. For school days and great stars brought together by a great yarn.
Extras: Making Of featurette.
