The Thirst: 'Ready To Move'

The first band to sign to Ronnie Woods’ Wooden Records sound like a math-rock Arctic Monkeys taking it easy on the distortion. 'Ready To Move' is entirely vibrant and pleasingly raw. If it does sound a little too much like Sheffield’s finest at times (especially Mensah Cofi Agyeman’s vocals) then that is made up for by the intricacy of the opening guitar and the unrehearsed urgency that almost finds them tripping over themselves as they journey through their rag-tag rock out. A promising opening not only for the group but also the nascent label.

Released 29th October 2007 by Wooden Records.
