The Beatles: 'Rare And Unseen'
You would think that after all of this time there would be very little else anyone could release for fans of The Beatles, but you’d be wrong. Here, in what is an unofficial documentary, we get to see ‘The Fab Four’ grow from their formation in Liverpool and subsequent rise to the top of the UK charts to global domination as one of the rare acts to take the US by storm.
Using old and rare film footage, home movies, photographs and pieces from private collections to tell the boys' story, it's really interesting to see the band in a relaxed mood, enjoying their fame and relaxing both on and off stage. We get the chance to witness the earliest known footage of them on stage in 1962, a Scottish appearance in 1964, material from the filming of 'Help' and highlights of an interview with John Lennon for French TV.
Throw in some interviews and contributions by friends and peers including Phil Collins, Steve Harley and even fellow Liverpudlian Ken Dodd, and you have what for fans will be a superb and unexpected addition to that already bulging Beatles collection - and for anyone intrigued as to what The Beatles energetic and enthusiastic approach to music meant in their heyday, this will be a curiosity that you’ll enjoy immensely.
Extras: Extended interviews.
Released on 7th April 2008 by Liberation Entertainment.
