Parka: 'Better Anyway'

Those damned Fratellis aren’t the only thing coming out of Glasgow at the moment, as punk-pop characters Parka prove. Consciously aiming for the anthemic UK punk title previously held by The Wildhearts, you have to admire the simple ‘rocking out’ ethos behind Parka.

Unfortunately, it’s not always that successful, as latest single 'Better Anyway' goes to show. A catchy enough chorus does not a classic song make, and it’s sometimes painfully clear on this track that there’s nothing that memorable going on. Though a diverting enough few minutes, it’s unlikely anyone will remember 'Better Anyway' for much longer than that.
