The Rivers: 'She Gives It Around'

The Kooks have got a lot to feel responsible for. There are so many copycat bands around at the moment, either marginally better than said band or infinitely worse, and Brighton's The Rivers fit somewhere in between, albeit with a much better vocalist in Tom Borsberry.

'She Gives it Around' is a lively, bouncy (yet again) indie pop number harking back to retro sixties sounds with a modern touch. Though adequate enough, there’s absolutely nothing here to distinguish the band from the myriad of similar acts currently stifling the flow of decent music into the charts.
