Pendulum release second album ‘In Silico’
Pendulum will release their second album ‘In Silico’ on 12th May 2008. The album follows their 225,000 selling debut ‘Hold Your Colour’.
‘In Silico’ marks producer / keyboardist Rob Swire’s first outing as a vocalist, with fellow producer / bassist Gareth McGrillen on backing vocals.
A seamless fusion of pounding dance beats and aggressive rock, ‘In Silico’ features the recent singles ‘Propane Nightmares’ and ‘Granite’ and represents a huge progression from ‘Hold Your Colour’.
Pendulum have been working on songs for ‘In Silico’ ever since ‘Hold Your Colour’ was released, with the bulk of the material recorded at their own studio (the acoustic drums were the only exception, recorded at London’s Olympic Studios and premixed by Dave Bascombe, known for his work with Depeche Mode and The Verve). Influenced by an eclectic array of sounds including Led Zeppelin, Underoath and Atreyu, ‘In Silico’ represents an exciting new era for Pendulum.
Other highlights of the album include the propulsive, mood setting opener ‘Showdown’, the relentless energy of ‘Mutiny’ and the ambitious progression of set closer ‘The Tempest’.
This summer looks set to be an exciting one for Pendulum. Not only is ‘In Silico’ released, but the band’s UK headline tour in May is also already almost sold-out. Their summer festival dates also reflect their eclecticism with Reading, Leeds, T in the Park, Download, Bestival, Oxegen, Glade, Gatecrasher, Creamfields, NASS, Forgotten Valley, Wakestock and Wild in the Country all confirmed.
