Vampire Weekend: 'Oxford Comma'

Vampire Weekend are one of the most exciting new bands around at the moment and share not only the fact that they are from New York with The Strokes.

The influence is clear in so many ways; the simplicity of the beats and melodies that form one of the catchiest songs you’ve heard all year, and the lyrical musings over grammar school boys and their pretentious people of all varieties.

'Oxford Comma' is full of those little references that jump out at you the more you listen to it, such as a homage to rapper Lil’ Jon, and despite the song’s sheer and beautiful simplicity, you’ll also continue to find new and quirky little sound bites.

If you missed out on their now completely sold out UK tour, you can catch the band at All Tomorrow’s Parties and The Great Escape Festival.

Released on 26th May 2008 by XL Recordings.
