Over the course of their new album the ambition of the band is clear. By mixing sounds of 80's new wave pop, funk, and disco, as well as dreamy electronic shoegaze, Semifinalists have truly evolved their music. The new album sparkles with sonic and melodic invention, taking the best elements of 80s pop, whilst reshaping them ingeniously and adding some serious dance-floor nous, to produce a modern pop classic, surely destined to the one of the year's summer soundtracks.
