The Little Ones: ‘Morning Tide’

After complications with previous record company Astralwerks Records, The Little Ones are keen to prove they are all grown up.

Taken from their new album of the same name, 'Morning Tide' is a snappy single full of hand clapping and catchy choruses. The band use the “Rule of Feet” as a way of chopping poor material, whereby if the track doesn’t make you want to Shuffle Truffle then it’s axed, giving a good indication of what to expect. The Waltons of rock play punchy, upbeat melodies without a speck of grime or distortion to sully their squeekier than squeeky pop tracks.

There seems to be a wave of new indie bands touting the mantra “if you’re holding up the wall then you’re missing the point" and, though the LA-based band are certainly not the front runners, you can tell by their sunshine-enfused hooks that they're enjoying the ride.

Released on 21st July 2008 by Heavenly Recordings.
