Frightened Rabbit to release ‘It’s Christmas So We’ll Stop’ single
Frightened Rabbit will bring 2008 to a close with a Christmas single, ‘It’s Christmas So We’ll Stop’, on 15th December.
Originally released exactly a year ago, the 2008 version is radically re-mixed, re-scored and expanded - including the addition of sweeping strings, flutes, brass, Rhodes piano and a full choir - by fellow FatCat artist, David Karsten Daniels.
A quietly euphoric, emphatic paean that agrees to put aside the petty animosities and prejudices accumulated over the year past - at least for the duration of the festive season - ‘It’s Christmas So We’ll Stop’ also signals a pause in 14 months of frenetic activity for the Selkirk quartet.
Currently on the road in the States, having just completed their most successful UK tour to date, including sold-out London and Glasgow shows, their ever growing reputation in the USA (their tunes now seeping into mainstream consciousness via One Tree Hill and Grey’s Anatomy) has impacted back home in the wake of their acclaimed ‘Midnight Organ Fight’ album, and the summer festivals.
