The news of Mark’s (Maxwell Caulfield) disappearance spreads like wildfire through the village as people start to question his whereabouts. Meanwhile, Maisie (Alice Coulthard) struggles to pull herself together but when Ryan (James Sutton) awkwardly tries to make conversation.
Charity (Emma Atkins) is furious when Nikhil (Rik Makarem) and Jai (Christopher Bisson) order her to make coffee and they fire her when she causes a scene. Ashley (John Middleton) takes Diane’s (Elizabeth Estensen) advice and decides to take a short sabbatical from the Church until he sorts things out with Laurel.

Sally (Sian Reeves) is beside herself when she hears Ashley (John Middleton) is leaving to patch things up with Laurel and deviously hatches a plan to make him stay. How does Sally plan to stop Ashley?
Debbie (Charley Webb) overhears Charity (Emma Atkins) booking the registry office for the wedding. Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) panics when she hears Ashley is going on sabbatical two days before the christening.

Sally (Sian Reeves) confides in Edna (Shirley Stelfox) that she and Ashley (John Middleton) were sleeping together, but he broke up with her that morning. Will Edna believe Sally’s lies? Can Ashley put Sally’s scheming to an end?
Carl (Tom Lister) takes an overnight job for Nikhil (Rik Makarem) the day before the christening and Jimmy (Nick Miles) decides to accompany him - desperate to have a break from Nicola (Nicola Wheeler). Val (Charlie Hardwick) isn’t impressed when Brenda (Lesley Dunlop) points out the newspaper advert for the restaurant is wrong.

Ashley (John Middleton) is furious when Edna (Shirley Stelfox) questions whether there is any truth in Sally’s (Sian Reeves) allegation. He realises the depth to Sally’s madness when Bishop George (Peter Cartwright) turns up just as he’s about to conduct the christening. Does the Bishop believe Sally? How can Ashley get through this?
Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) is frantic when neither Jimmy (Nick Miles) or the cake arrive in time for the christening. Nikhil (Rik Makarem) buys Priya (Effie Woods) a car and asks Debbie (Charley Webb) to look it over.
Jimmy (Nick Miles) finally bursts into the Church wearing grimy overalls covered in oil and tells a horrified Nicola (Nicola Wheeler), however there‘s still no godfather or vicar. Will Angelica’s christening go ahead? Will Nicola forgive Jimmy for turning up late?
Ashley’s (John Middleton) stunned when Sally (Sian Reeves) reveals the measure of her madness when he confronts her about her lies but she insists it’s the truth – she genuinely thinks they’re an item. Can Ashley save his job and his marriage before it’s too late? Nikhil (Rik Makarem) is infuriated that he’s been stitched up when he fails to get hold of the man who sold him the stolen car.

Carl (Tom Lister) is surprised when his ex wife Colleen (Melanie Ash) turns up with Anya (Millie Archer) and Thomas (Connor Hill) in tow and announces that Carl needs to look after them for a while.
As the villagers continue to speculate about Ashley (John Middleton) and Sally (Sian Reeves), he can’t believe everyone thinks he’s a cheat and is worried when Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) orders him to tell Laurel before she does.
Chas (Lucy Pargeter) pitches Charity (Emma Atkins) as a new driver for Carl (Tom Lister) and Jimmy (Nick Miles), Carl is incredulous and claims Charity is the last person they would trust.
