Apply Some Pressure
Tuesday 4th May 2010

Connie finds out about Ric and Michael's director of surgery job-share. Feeling dispensable, she muscles in on Joseph's research project. When Connie discovers Elaine, an old friend, is the perfect case study she hopes to persuade Elaine to be a candidate.
Michael doesn't want to play second fiddle to Ric, but realises that if he's got any chance of saving his marriage, he has to park his ego and let Ric in.
Take No Prisoners
Wednesday 12th May 2010
Mark is still refusing to apply for the CEO position because he doesn't like the politics involved. It's not until he comes across a patient whose quality of life could be enhanced significantly by new laser treatment that he decides to go for the job.
Oliver is promoted to F2 but things start going wrong. Penny notices that he is having problems with Connie's patient, Elaine. Connie is furious with Oliver and he lets slip that Penny slept with a patient. Penny is moved back to AAU.
Donna disappears for a whole day, leaving Maria to cope on her own. After denying wanting the position of ward sister, they slowly change their minds and both apply for the position.
Holby's Flash Flood: Part 1
Tuesday 18th May 2010
A flash flood hits South West England and Holby City is inundated with patients, in the first of a special two-part episode. The basement of Holby is at risk of flooding and the mains power is cut out. While Connie and Joseph operate on Elaine, and other theatres are being used, the back-up generator fails.
Interviews are held for the Ward Sister position. Maria gets the job, much to Donna's disappointment. Tensions between the two soar and they end up stuck in a lift together when the power cuts out.
Staff learn that Terry, a patient admitted for overdosing on paracetamol, was previously in trouble with the police for downloading child pornography. When the crèche children are moved to safety during the flood chaos, Donna's Mia strays from the group – only to be noticed by Terry.
Holby's Flash Flood: Part 2
Wednesday 19th May 2010
The flash flood continues to cause havoc at Holby City. Mark proves to be a great leader in a crisis with everyone turning to him for answers. When power is eventually restored in the hospital, Davina has to concede that he's a clear front runner for the chief executive officer job.
Donna and Maria are stuck in the lift. Mia is missing and Donna worries that she may have been taken by Terry, a suspected paedophile. Her fears are allayed when Greg (soon to be registrar on Darwin) finds her. Maria then realises what the sister job means to Donna and decides to hand in her notice, leaving Holby City to take the job in Tanzania.
Connie is still operating on patient Elaine, who is starved of oxygen due to the power cut. It's early stages, but Connie has to explain to Kevin that Elaine may have permanent brain damage.
