Revelations

Tuesday 5th October 2010

Joseph's arrival upsets Faye, causing an argument between Linden and Joseph. The obstetrician diagnoses a urinary tract infection, but Linden is suspicious and confronts Faye – why didn't she mention her discomfort earlier? Linden soon feels ashamed for doubting Faye and asks for her forgiveness – but Faye later discards her prescription.

Worried that he's damaged his career prospects, Oliver desperately tries to regain Joseph and Greg's respect. However, Oliver finds he can't cope, until Frieda comes to his rescue.

Meanwhile, Sacha realises he's upset Jac after making her feel like a laughing stock a couple of weeks ago. He teams up with Donna to prove he's sorry. This backfires and Jac tells him she doesn't want to be part of the "gang". Sacha decides the real way to show he's truly sorry is to take Jac to dinner.

Misfit Love
Tuesday 12th October 2010

The relationship between Faye and Linden breaks down as Linden discovers a number of lies Faye has told in her desperation not to lose him. Despite his attempts to leave her, Linden can't help but try to save her when she is threatened by a drug addict – but his act of chivalry ends up costing him dearly.

Michael is called into work on his day off to explain some figures he's lied about in his plans for Holbycare. Things go from bad to worse when a woman he's slept with asks him to operate on her varicose vein. When he realises that Ric is behind people scrutinising his proposal, he punches him and swiftly loses not only his pitch for Holbycare but also his job as Director of Surgery.

Frieda is in a good mood after Oliver asks her out for a drink to say thank you for bailing him out recently. She even considers applying for an F1 job when Penny pushes her. However, when Penny realises the reason behind Frieda's cheerfulness, she asks Oliver what he's playing at. Oliver doesn't want to lead Frieda on and so cancels the drink, causing Frieda to throw her application form in the bin.

Shifts
Tuesday 19th October 2010

Connie feels on top of her game but then a stranger in her office turns out to be the new joint director of surgery, Henrik Hanssen. However, Connie is defiant – she doesn't do job share!

Setting out to make sure Hanssen knows who is top dog, she outlines her visionary presentation to the Board. But she is humiliated when Hanssen publicly dismisses her plans. And when Connie watches from the wings as Hanssen gathers the hospital together, telling them that there will be tough times ahead, she realises a new King of Holby has been born.

Joseph can't help but feel compassion for the grieving, pregnant Faye and dismisses Jac's cynical view of her. But Joseph can't ignore Faye's capacity for manipulation and is shocked when she tells him Linden is the father of her child. Reeling from this lie, Joseph knows he cannot trust Faye and decides to treat her with kid gloves.

Social pariah Michael finds it hard to keep his chin up when the Spence charm doesn't work on Hanssen. Vowing not to be beaten, Michael sets his sights on selling himself as the saviour of the hospital via Holby Care. But Hanssen has a different plan for him.

Elizabeth is sure she'll be on the redundancy list. More nervous than ever in Hanssen's presence, she is worried about making a mistake. With Ric's help, Elizabeth may be able to swing things her way, but will it be enough to secure Hanssen's good opinion and her job?
