Tuesday 6th October 2009
Mark is not impressed to see Oliver flirting with Daisha after she has asked him on a date. Meanwhile, Chrissie tells Oliver that she is pregnant with his child. She struggles to work despite abdominal pains but loses enough blood to realise that she must have miscarried.
Ric operates on Maria with spine expert Henry Miller and, although there are some serious complications, Ric manages to take control of the situation and get through the operation.
Connie gives Penny a chance to impress her but she gets side-tracked by Elliot, who is planning a heart transplant.

Maria is determined to remain positive and face the reality of her future in a wheelchair. But, through Sunita's death, she finally finds the strength and determination to walk again.
Connie, meanwhile, wants to impress the new CEO, Vanessa Lytton, on her first day. However, when there is a crisis on her ward she struggles to contain the situation.
Elsewhere, Mark wants Chrissie to find a new man but, when his match-making attempts ends in disaster, Chrissie turns the tables on him – if she has to date, then so does he.

When Archie's condition takes a turn for the worse, Faye struggles to cope. Archie's nurse, Lauren, makes a serious mistake when administering his medication.
Michael introduces new CEO Vanessa to his team and outlines his plans as director of surgery. He is determined to prove his sceptics wrong. But, when Connie needs to operate on Archie, the first and much-hyped robotic operation is thrown into jeopardy.
When Judith arrives, Mark questions the need for a matron. But, in time, he learns that she is an asset to the team. Judith, on the other hand, has begun to question the need for Mark.

When Donna has to deal with Derek's meagre effects, she finds herself setting off on a trip that begins as a joy-ride and ends with her having to confront some serious responsibilities. Along the way, she learns a lot more about her father – and discovers a new family member.
Joseph's determination to get to the bottom of Faye's suspension drives him to compromise his professionalism by confronting Lauren, against Michael's advice.
Judith is determined to prove her sceptics wrong but, when her new infection-control measures backfire and Mark saves the day, Judith realises Mark is worth his weight in gold.
