Zoe prepares to film Hannah in hospital, although she's still not convinced it's a good idea. Nancy arrives and the girls get chatting about their childhoods and old times. It's all relaxed but as Hannah's food arrives things quickly change. Zoe leaves to take a call and returns to a very on edge Hannah who, even with the distraction of her friends, can't bring herself to eat just one mouthful. In frustration and anger, Hannah lets rip on a clearly shaken Zoe until she flees the room, followed by Nancy. Whilst out, Zoe reveals the call was to let her know Lydia got sentenced to life. The girls return to find a much calmer Hannah with an empty plate, having eaten her dinner. Zoe and Nancy are pleased for her, but as Zoe tries to rewind the tape that's been filming, Hannah is suddenly in a rage and destroys it. Zoe and Nancy leave a guilty Hannah alone, but will she find the strength to overcome her demons?
After starting an unlikely relationship, Lauren and Gaz cause a stir by sharing a kiss in the common room. Anita's jaw nearly hits the floor as she witnesses the encounter between her best friend and enemy. She confronts Lauren over Gaz, reminding her that he's a racist thug who tried to attack her but Lauren quickly retaliates by reminding Anita that she attacked Gaz and almost killed him. In her anger, Anita tells Lauren she thinks she's pathetic for still hiding behind her emo look when everyone else has moved on, giving Lauren food for thought. She tells Gaz that she's thinking of changing her image but is surprised when he thinks it's for him and tells her that he's not into fakes, she should just be herself. Later, Lauren thanks Gaz for giving her a wake up call, she's finally ready to reveal the real Lauren Valentine.
Still furious over Gilly's accusations, Cheryl rants to anyone who'll listen, adamant she won't take him back. Steph, having had her ear chewed through the day, can't help but think Cheryl is over-reacting. When Gilly arrives to tell Cheryl he's sorry, she refuses to listen and tells him to leave. As Gilly tries in vain to impress Cheryl, Steph's heart melts. To her, Gilly is the perfect, romantic boyfriend but Cheryl remains frosty. Gilly eventually leaves, disheartened by Cheryl's rejection. In a last ditch attempt to win his woman, Gilly stands on top of the archway and declares his love through a loud speaker. Will this romantic gesture be enough to win Cheryl's heart back and what other surprise does he have in store for her?

The boutique is a success from the start and the money is rolling in, much to Cindy's delight. Fed up, Dominic tells Tony he's being pathetic after Tony berates him for shopping at the boutique. (Episode 2737)
With business booming at the boutique, Cindy’s joy is overshadowed by Tony’s lack of support. When he hears the news of Cindy’s meeting with a supplier, his jealousy gets the better of him and he sets out to teach Cindy a lesson. Tony secretly watches an excitable Cindy leave for her appointment and then lets himself into the boutique. Later, as he is serving in Il Gnosh, Cindy rushes in to ask for his help; she can’t get the alarm to stop going off. Tony relishes the opportunity to point out exactly how much she relies on him and agrees to reset the alarm for her. Tony’s satisfaction is short-lived, however, as realising Cindy’s genuine frustration at his failure to believe in her causes him to crumble and reveal his concerns. He confesses to meddling with the alarm and admits that he wants her to need him, prompting a guilt-ridden Cindy to declare her love for him. Happily assured that she doesn’t want to leave him, Tony reciprocates and presents his wife with a surprise gift. Cindy is delighted with her new sign for ‘Cincerity’ and the newfound support of her loving husband.
Cheryl is suffering with a hangover, but her excitement at her engagement to Gilly is unmistakeable. In order to honour their decision to keep the news quiet for the time being, Cheryl makes every effort to keep everyone in the dark, but does happily admit that she and Gilly are back together. However, Leo and Carmel incorrectly arrive at the conclusion that Cheryl’s secrecy is down to the fact that she’s pregnant! Leo tries to congratulate her, but thinking that he has sussed the engagement, Cheryl swears him to secrecy.
Following Hannah’s outburst, Zoe is unsure that she should continue to film the family, but Josh is determined not to give up now. A nervous Darren turns up to visit Hannah, but is soon relieved when Hannah is clearly glad to see him. She assures him that she’s doing well and reveals that she could be discharged tomorrow, although Darren is doubtful. At The Dog, an angry Rhys walks in on Suzanne, Neville and Josh in front of the camera. Refusing to join in, Rhys is resolute that Hannah wants to die and sees no point in showing her any support. Josh accuses him of being a coward and the brothers start to fight, before they are pulled apart by Neville. Finally, Rhys crumbles, the devastation of Hannah’s condition has become too much. Rhys watches the footage on Zoe’s camera and the realisation that she is genuinely ill hits him. He turns up at the hospital and offers Hannah his apology, but she is too hurt to forgive him. Hannah orders Rhys to leave; as the reality of her brother’s betrayal hits her, she starts to breaks down.

Zak plots to get his own back and consequently, Elliot is surprised when Sheila turns up. When he declines to break from his work, Sheila reveals her sadness over the death of her cat and admits that when she heard Elliot had wanted to see her, it had been a comfort to her. (Episode 2738)
Rhys is frustrated when he hears of Neville’s plans to free up some cash to pay for Hannah’s treatment. When Gilly arrives and announces he’s back with Cheryl and they’re getting married, the mood is lightened. However, Rhys’ pleasure is dampened when he realises Gilly wants both him and Josh as joint best men. Having a pint with Leo, Gilly is pole-axed when he offers him his congratulations and tells him Cheryl let slip their good news – that he’s going to be a dad! Announcing that he knows nothing about a baby, a panicked Leo suggests that Cheryl may be waiting for the right moment to tell him, just as she arrives with Tom in tow and tells Gilly he’s on babysitting duty! Heading to the park, a freaked out Gilly is calmed by Tom’s outlook on life, however, he’s sadden to hear that they’re moving to Spain as soon as the wedding is over. Gilly seeks out Rhys and confides his news about his impending fatherhood. Insisting his life will be over, Rhys is full of doom and gloom, however, we sense a shift in Gilly’s outlook – he’s going to be a dad! Attempting to discuss fatherhood with Cheryl causes more harm than good, and with wires well and truly crossed, Gilly finds himself on the end of a tongue lashing from Cheryl and told he’s not fit to be a dad…
Hannah’s apprehensive about the day ahead and her possible release from hospital. As long as she’s put wait on, the outlook is good; however, it still doesn’t stop her anxiety resurfacing. While Zoe continues to film her ordeal, Suzanne, Neville and Josh arrive and the meeting begins. Thrilled to hear that she’s gained body weight, Hannah’s buoyed by the news and admits that she wants a future without being affected with an eating disorder. This time she feels she’s strong enough to start living again, and a relieved Hannah is thrilled when she’s given the all clear to go home.
Cheryl’s keen to hear what Neville and Suzanne will say about their wedding, but Gilly’s not sure it’s such a good idea to tell them, with Hannah being in hospital. Cheryl can’t help but tell Steph her news, and Gilly realises their engagement can longer be kept a secret. Unable to contain her excitement, Cheryl tells Fernando, who’s in the process of organising a meeting with the priest for his and Steph’s ceremony. From Steph’s reaction, we sense she’s becoming weighed down with wedding preparations. Steph’s guilt ridden when she peeps at Fernando’s self penned vows and admits she hasn’t had time to start her own. Fernando calms her, insisting as long as the words come from her heart, that’s all that matters. When Tom grows upset about the move to Spain, Steph attempts to allay his fears. Although she too is struggling with the enormity of the change, in her heart she also has massive doubts.
Elliot’s frustrations towards Sheila grow as he struggles to balance his studies alongside sharing her company. Still upset at the loss of her cat, Sheila’s looking for some TLC, however, she realises Elliot is far too preoccupied with his revision and decides to draw him up a schedule which incorporates study time and Sheila time. Elliot is totally freaked out by Sheila’s intervention and cruelly lashes out. Deciding enough is enough, an upset Sheila admonishes Elliot, telling him exactly what she thinks of him before storming out.

(Episode 2739)
Neville and Suzanne plan a day at the beach to celebrate Hannah’s homecoming from hospital. However, not all the Ashworths are as keen, as it gradually dawns on Hannah that Rhys isn’t coming and it’s all down to her. Duncan’s disappointed not to be included in the family fun, but no matter what Neville says to Rhys, he won’t change his mind. Arriving at the beach takes its toll on Hannah, and while Josh, Neville and Suzanne head down to the sea, a stubborn Hannah stays put in the car. Meanwhile, at the Dog, Gilly’s arrival gets to Rhys when he accuses him of not caring about his family. Angry words are exchanged and as a disappointed Gilly walks out, a pensive Rhys is left with food for thought. At the beach, Hannah finally joins her family and makes it down to the sea.
About to re-create some childhood fun, Neville suggests they get the sandcastle gear from the car, but he suddenly realises that he’s left it all behind in the Dog. Crestfallen, everyone’s spirits are dampened, until Rhys’ surprise arrival with the buckets and spades. With a sandcastle of the Dog left on the beach, the Ashworths head home, and Rhys finally reconciles himself with Hannah. Celebrating the day, everyone’s on top form as they prepare to toast the reconciliation, however, Hannah has another agenda. Announcing that she wants to move away from Hollyoaks to make her recovery rings alarm bells with everyone. Realising this is the only way Hannah can control her own destiny, Rhys gives his blessing, and gradually, one by one, the rest of the Ashworths support her. For Hannah, this is the start of her journey on her own terms and life couldn’t be sweeter…
Gilly feigns pleasure and offers his congratulations when Fernando shows him photos of his villa in Spain. However, showing Steph the contract for Villa Rosa doesn’t get the desired effect Fernando thought. Expressing her fears that it all feels a bit rushed sends Steph into a panic and she suggests she should pop out for some wine, leaving a confused Fernando behind. Bumping into Gilly, it’s clear that both their relationships are playing heavy on their hearts and suggesting a drink; Steph follows Gilly into the Dog. Listening to wedding plans does nothing to dispel each others unease about the future, and to top it all, Steph’s left reeling when she discovers Cheryl’s pregnant. Asking her to keep the baby news a secret for now, Gilly then admits the one thing he is terrified about is his first dance at the wedding. Agreeing to help him, Steph hauls him to his feet, and they soon find themselves gliding in perfect harmony, gazing into each other’s eyes. The spell is broken by Hannah’s arrival and Steph makes her excuses before leaving, clearly rattled by the encounter.
Malachy encourages Mercedes to take a sickie, and in no rush to see Calvin, she complies with his wishes. With the offer of breakfast in bed and her favourite movie on TV, Mercedes snuggles up with Malachy, all thoughts of the Loft a million miles away. Enjoying spending quality time together, Malachy takes a moment to tell Mercedes that he’s been saving up so they can get their own place. A guilty Mercedes struggles to give him the enthusiasm he needs, and once more doubts over their relationship swamp Malachy.

The pressure mounts on Steph as talk of weddings sends her into a panic. Cheryl’s unaware how down Steph is feeling and witters on about her own wedding arrangements. As talk turns to honeymoons, Steph is quick to tell Cheryl what sort of honeymoon Gilly would like and taking umbrage, Cheryl flounces off. Growing increasingly confused by Steph’s behaviour, Cheryl’s flummoxed, especially when she congratulates her on the ‘good news’. Heading to see Gilly, a furious Cheryl calls his bluff and tells him she’s pregnant to gauge his reaction. Aware that he’s lying, she cross examines him and asks him how he knew about the baby. Mentioning Leo, it’s clear to Cheryl that there’s been a huge misunderstanding and that he’s been talking to Steph, and not her, about parenthood. Suggesting they meet to discuss further, her departing words leave Gilly gutted when she tells him she’s not actually pregnant after all. It becomes apparent to Cheryl that whenever Steph’s name is mentioned, Gilly bumbles over his words.
Convinced there’s something going, she asks him how he feels about Steph. Unable to answer, a devastated Cheryl reaches the only conclusion – Gilly is in love with Steph and a distraught but defiant Cheryl calls an immediate halt to their relationship. Running into Steph and Frankie, Cheryl confesses she’s split up with Gilly and that she’s not pregnant. Frankie’s intrigued to know the gossip; however Steph’s in no mood and storms off in search of Fernando. Facing her feelings, Steph braces herself and tells Fernando she can’t marry him, she doesn’t love him in the right way. His world crumbling around him, a gracious Fernando accepts her words and vows to continue what he does best… keep dancing…
Hannah and Zoe catch up with Kris. Hannah takes the opportunity to tell her friends about her plans for the future and her imminent departure from Hollyoaks. As Kris and Zoe listen, they soon get caught up in the excitement of travelling and before they realise, they too have decided to join Hannah for the ride. With emotions running high, the friends pour over a map of the world as exotic destinations are bandied around. The moment comes to a crashing halt when Nancy arrives back from school and Kris is brought back to earth with a rude bump. Blaming Zoe for inciting Kris’ excitement for travel, Nancy thanks them for highlighting how boring her life is, stuck in Hollyoaks with a kid for the rest of her days…
Mercedes and Malachy show up at the Loft, refreshed from their sickie yesterday. Calvin’s eager for them to get stuck in and wastes no time in doling out the duties. Mercedes suspicions are aroused when Carmel drops in looking for Calvin, but all she can do is pass the message on and ask him to call Carmel later. Calvin’s surprised to find Carmel on his doorstep and he’s shocked to see that their divorce papers have come through. Genuinely upset that their marriage is finally over, both struggle to confess how they really feel. It becomes apparent only after Carmel leaves and Calvin is left alone that we see the pain etched across his face. Finding a distraught Cheryl at the bar, Calvin does what any mate would and offers his shoulder to cry on, however, a tipsy Cheryl takes it one step further and on the walk home from the Loft, friendship turns to passion as they share a kiss…
