Monday, 7th June 2010
(Episode 2836)

Kris is worried about Martin’s request to help assist in his suicide. Kris speaks to Malachy about being diagnosed with HIV and whether he ever wanted to give up. Malachy believes that as long as there’s breath in his body, he’s got reason to live. Kris tells Martin he can’t go through with it, but Martin’s determined to find a way out, one way or another. Feeling he’s run out of options, Kris calls in professional help. Has Kris and his betrayal torn Martin and Ricky apart for good?

Jacqui makes an appointment for Theresa McQueen to have an abortion, even though it breaks her heart to do it. When Theresa finds out what Jacqui’s planned for her, she’s outraged, but Jacqui’s adamant. If the baby is born, she’ll be in the frame for Calvin’s killing. Theresa’ tentatively agrees. She tells Lauren what Jacqui has planned for her and looks to her for support but Lauren’s forced to admit she’s not pregnant, she never was - it was all a scam to get money from Spencer. Theresa’s horrified and turns her back on her friend – how could she?

Rae struggles with her revision. If she’s going to die soon, then what’s the point? Newt does his best to keep her mind off the curse. He wants to keep an eye on her, and asks Frankie if she can move in with them. Frankie tells him no. When Newt complains to Darren, they get their wires crossed and suddenly Darren finds himself with two new lodgers.

Duncan wants to lift Ricky’s spirits and thinks there’s no better distraction than ladies. Ricky’s heart isn’t in it, but Duncan vows by the end of the day to find the right girl for Ricky. Duncan tries to persuade India to go on a date with Ricky but she’s not interested, until Duncan pulls at the heartstrings- Ricky’s Dad is really ill. How can India refuse? Duncan tries to crash the date, but India and Ricky soon make it clear that three is a crowd. India suggests to Ricky that if Duncan really wants juicy gossip from their date, then maybe they shouldn’t disappoint him? Duncan can hardly believe it as Ricky enthuses about his hot date with India.


Tuesday 8th June 2010
(Episode 2837)

Carmel goes through the last of Calvin’s belongings as Lauren tries to revise. Spencer calls round, throwing Lauren off-balance. She worries what he knows, now the secret about the baby is out to Theresa. Lauren goes to the McQueens to see her estranged friend. She offers a truce, but Theresa wants none of it. When Lauren is gone, Jacqui panics to Theresa; she can’t tell a living soul what she’s done. Theresa tries to contain her emotions as an emotional Carmel confides in her that she thinks she is pregnant with Calvin’s baby.

Darren struggles to adjust to his new love-bird flatmates. Newt ends up having to pay his way, but at least Rae seems happier, if a little stressed about her exams. Newt decides a post exam party is in order and they throw an impromptu housewarming party. When Lauren hears they are planning something, she finds herself excluded and realises Theresa’s told them about Spencer. Newt forces Lauren to confess all and Gaz is fuming as he watches Lauren tell Spencer he’s not going to be a Dad.

Ricky has spent the night at The Ashworths. Kris calls round to try and justify his actions but Duncan is angry- Martin could be taken away from Ricky and it’s all Kris’ fault. Ricky confides in India that Martin was taken into hospital and she hugs him, fuelling Duncan’s imagination about what they go up to on their date. When Kris tries talking to Martin, Duncan overhears he planned to kill himself. He’s livid with Martin and sympathises with Kris’ decision making Martin promise never to go through with his bid to end it all. Ricky is delighted when the Ashworth’s say he can stay with them for as long as he likes.

Michaela proves herself useful helping out at The Loft with Sasha and Spencer. She manages to making Sasha laugh and lightens the mood, no mean feat, given all the tragedy that’s befallen them lately.


Wednesday 9th June 2010
(Episode 2838)

Newt tries to encourage Rae to live for the moment and so takes her rollerskating. Rae’s mind is taken off the curse and it seems like they are having a perfect day, until Rae realises her lucky locket is missing. Rae freaks out and Newt tries to calm her down by telling her there was no magic. Rae explains she wants to find it because it was a gift from him, not because it was magic. On their return Darren tells Rae he’s found her misplaced necklace. Rae is delighted to have her lucky locket back but knows her real protection is Newt.

Mercedes thinks she and Malachy will look guilty if they don’t return to work at The Loft. Malachy still suspects Mercedes of keeping something back from him about Calvin’s death. However Cheryl thinks it’s disgusting that she’s still planning to work for Sasha. How would she feel if the Valentines found out about Mercedes and Calvin’s affair?

Ravi tries to get back in touch with the mysterious Kate. Anita winds him up over it, but Ravi starts to feel hopeless. Then, out of the blue, Kate, turns up to see him. Ravi agrees to put her disappearing act behind them and asks her out. Meanwhile, Anita puts pressure on Ravi to get the address of her biological mother. When it comes to Ravi and Kate’s evening in together, Kate tries to get Anita to stick around. Ravi gets rid of his sister by giving her the address she’s after, but it’s Kate who ends up sneaking off. Ravi’s left feeling stood up again, whereas Anita is excited at the prospect of finally tracking down her mother.

Carmel makes sure Theresa hasn’t told anyone she thinks she’s pregnant. As she goes on about her hopes for her child, Theresa becomes increasingly uncomfortable and escapes to tell Jacqui Carmel’s secret. Jacqui fears Carmel’s news might put Theresa off her abortion on Friday and tells her to stay strong. Theresa struggles to hold back her secret as Carmel enthuses that her own pregnanancy is Calvin’s last gift to her.

Nancy comes across a letter that Steph has lost and can’t help but read it. She confronts Steph with it. It’s about Cervical Cancer and Steph’s been ignoring it. Not anymore. Nancy tells Steph she has to see the Oncologist right away.


Thursday 10th June 2010
(Episode 2839)

Nancy takes Steph to see the cancer specialist. Gilly is surprised Steph’s not at work and is even more surprised to see Jem back in the village. Jem assumes Steph has stood him up and warns him not to be messed by her- again. Meanwhile, Steph receives a prognosis from the oncologist. Still in shock Steph makes Nancy promise not to say anything to anyone and when she finally see Gilly, Steph acts like there’s nothing wrong with her but Gilly can tell something is up. When Gilly tries to get Steph to open up, she can’t and he assumes she wants to break up with him. Steph later confronts Nancy about what she might have said to Gilly. Unbeknownst to them both, Tom overhears. He tells Jack and Frankie Steph’s bad news. Steph is horrified when she realises her secret’s been blown to everyone.

Newt’s disturbed when Darren tells him he thinks Rae is lying about being over the curse. Rae locks Darren out the flat to try and get time alone with Newt, she wants to make them a romantic meal but it turns to disaster when the curtains catch fire and Rae is terrified. Determined not to give in, Rae tries to prove she’s over the curse, by taking Newt up onto the archway, will she make it back down safely?

Ravi thinks Anita shouldn’t get her hopes up about her real mother. Jem admits that her real mother is long gone, but she wishes she could see her again. Anita starts to have doubts. She’s afraid of meeting her mother alone. Jem offers to come along for support, which turns things around for Anita. They head to Manchester together and are surprised to find Kate, Ravi’s love interest working in the same place they’ve been sent. Kate insists she knows nothing about Anita’s real mother Eva but when somebody calls Eva’s name, it’s obvious that Kate is Eva…

Darren feels like Newt and Rae have taken over his flat. Frankie decides to try and put a good word in for him with Jack and Darren agrees to meet them both at The Dog later on. Will there finally be a thawing between Darren and Jack?


Friday 11th June 2010
(Episode 2840)

Steph is resolved to beat her cancer, even if the rest of her family struggle to cope with the news. She doesn’t want to be treated differently. Jack worries that she hasn’t told Gilly yet. Steph starts to resent the pressure on her. Meanwhile, Gilly, unaware what drove Steph away, drowns his sorrows in the pub. Jem finds him alone and takes pity. Steph tries talking to Tom about her illness, assuring him the doctors can make her better. Tom hopes Gilly will look after her and Steph realises she needs to tell Gilly the truth, but before she gets the chance, she finds him in an embrace with Jem. Heartbroken, Steph runs away.

Theresa is fearful of her termination today. Jacqui tries to comfort her but she has to go through with it- the threat of the police still hangs over her head. Carmel realises she’s not pregnant, and her hopes of keeping Calvin alive are dashed. Theresa tries to get out of her appointment to look after Carmel, but Jacqui insists they have to go today. Lauren shows up, hoping to go with Theresa and support her. Theresa has already gone when Lauren accidentally lets slip about the termination to Carmel. Will Carmel make it to the clinic in time to stop save Calvin’s baby?

Anita hasn’t told Ravi that ‘Kate’ is really Eva, her biological mother. Jem thinks Ravi has a right to know the girl he’s been chasing is Anita’s real Mum. Anita finally confesses all to a shocked Ravi, who secretly decides to track Eva/Kate down. In the meantime Anita gets Jem to move in with them, she’s happy to have another girl around the place. When Ravi catches up with Eva he accuses her of abandoning Anita for a second time. Eva admits she doesn’t think she’s up to being a parent; Anita is better off without her. Ravi returns to Anita, hoping to make sure she feels like she has a family in him but Ravi and Anita are both shocked when they get a surprise visit from Eva – will Anita give her a second chance?

Duncan is jealous of Ricky. He thinks there’s something going on between him and India. Darren’s advice is to go after India’s sister Texas. He shows Duncan some photos her took of Tex at Calvin’s wedding, but India catches him with them and brands him a creep. Darren starts coaching Duncan in his ways of seduction, but a spot of role play ends in India photographing them in a compromising situation.
