It’s Bonfire night and the Costellos are hosting a celeb launch night at the Dog while Tony is hosting a disastrous rival affair at Il Gnosh…
Mercedes and Malachy are eating lunch together and wonder how on earth they ended up in the same room, actually being civil. They agree that they’ve both been hurtful towards each other and as they look after Theresa’s baby, we sense there is a new closeness between them. The pair go for a walk and as they enter the Village, Mercedes makes Malachy an offer he can’t refuse. Their new union is sealed with a kiss, but at that moment Malachy notices a flash of light inside Il Gnosh and quickly dives on Mercedes, protecting her from a huge explosion. As we see their motionless bodies, we wonder if they’re dead or alive.
Amy is still reeling from the news that Brendan has beaten Ste up, and is in even more shock that the father of her son is gay. Ste begs Amy to keep his relationship with Brendan a secret but Amy thinks Brendan is a bully that needs to be stopped. Ste worries, as Brendan tells him Amy needs to be dealt with and if Ste can’t silence her, Brendan will take matters into his own hands. Meanwhile, Lee has realised his true feelings for Amy and decides to call off his engagement to Leanne. Amy heads to Il Gnosh with the kids to ‘babysit’ Amber but as Amy drifts off to sleep, we see the fire growing in the restaurant below. Will Amy and the kids get out alive?
Amber’s been grounded and is being ‘babysat’ by Amy but she sneaks Finn in to her room. She’s got to do a pregnancy test and he should be there too. The test is positive and Finn freaks out but finally agrees they’ll get through it together, just as back draft from the fire sends them both flying across the room. On waking up the kids realised there’s only one way out, the window. They carefully climb out but as Amber slips, she slides down the roof and is left hanging on for her life. Will they both make it down safety?
Steph and Gilly hear the explosion at Il Gnosh and run to see what’s happened. They find a raging fire and Mercedes and Malachy on the floor. Steph tells Gilly to get help, but while he’s gone she sees Amy trapped in the flat and heads inside to help, the stairs collapsing behind her. Gilly returns and desperately climbs up to rescue Steph from the window, but she insists on saving Amy’s children first. With Leah and Lucas safe Gilly wants Steph to come out but she is determined to rescue Amy and heads back to get her. Will Steph and Amy survive?
