Monday 6th July 2009

Darren and Hannah are both reticent after their rock n' roll weekend in Denmark. When they both emerge from a taxi together, looking bedraggled and embarrassed, no one knows what to think. Hannah and Zoe try their best to get Hannah to spill the beans, and likewise Cindy expects Darren to have some rock n roll tales of glamour and debauchery. However, both seem unusually reluctant to let anything slip. Suzanne is worried about her little girl and she organises a family meal at The Dog to welcome her back. However, with Josh itching to get to Manchester for a night out with new mate Dave, no one except Suzanne seems to want to be there, and the whole affair becomes awkward. Things are made much worse when Darren turns up with Cindy. Hannah does her best to avoid him, but after much goading from Rhys, Darren cannot help breaking the news: he and Hannah have tied the knot…!

Malachy is feeling under the weather, but he's reluctant to let it be known. The Irishman is much in need of a rest, but Mercedes is bored with being jobless at home, and drags him with her to MOBS. On their way they happen to bump into Tony and he gives them an offer to ease their short-term money troubles. Tony asks Mercedes if she would some work handing out flyers for the charity fete he is organising. When he also mentions a gladiator competition with £100 prize Mercedes senses an opportunity. Malachy is less enthusiastic, but, still not wanting to admit that he's not feeling well, he reluctantly agrees to compete for the money. Mercedes instantly puts her man on a strict training regime, but she is shocked when she finds him later looking awful and burning up with fever. While he shrugs off her concerns, she is worried that his HIV virus could make things more serious…

Calvin wants to be there for Sasha, but he knows he has to tread carefully. Sasha is obviously still grieving for Warren, but when anyone tries to comfort her, she just seems to push them away. Calvin decides to go round to Warren's flat and start sorting through his things, but Sasha does not want anyone else interfering and she quickly takes charge. Meanwhile, Lauren is much aggrieved to be landed with babysitting Spencer, and she does not do a very good job of looking after him. Over at the Evissa Flat, Sasha is very possessive over Warren's stuff and still keeps pushing Calvin away. Eventually, however, Calvin does manage to get through to his sister and she relents a little, allowing him to take care of her. On the other hand, Spencer and Lauren are not exactly bonding together. When Spencer gets a text message from someone claiming to be Warren, he becomes over excited. Just as Calvin and Sasha are finally starting to work together, sorting out Warren's stuff, Spencer bursts in and tries to stop them…

Tuesday 7th July 2009

Hannah is mortified that everyone knows about her shot-gun marriage to Darren. She tries to busy herself by cleaning the flat, but Rhys and Zoe keep on probing. Hannah just wants to avoid the subject but Rhys is livid. The blushing bride decides to get an annulment, but realises that might be easier if she hadn't slept with Darren. Only problem is, she can't remember whether she did or not. Meanwhile, Darren is enjoying watching Cindy become more jealous as he brags about his new wife. That is, until Hannah rushes into Il Gnosh and bursts his bubble, telling him that she wants to see a solicitor. Hannah is over the moon when Darren informs her that they did not have sex, while her parents are also relieved that the whole thing can now be called off. Darren is celebrating the annulment too, but when Cindy makes a throwaway comment about how marrying Hannah could mean him getting back The Dog, he has a sudden change of heart…

Malachy is still scared to face up to his illness. He does not want to admit to Mercedes that he is scared, but she can tell anyway. Mercedes wants to come with her husband to the doctors but he won't let her. In the end, it is Cheryl who gets him to admit how scared he is. When Malachy comes home to Mercedes, it seems like it was just a false alarm, but is he being totally honest with her…?

Zak feels guilty after having an intimate dream about Mercedes. When he wakes up from his fantasy, he can barely look at Michaela for guilt. He dodges her by going for a run, which only rouses her suspicions. Still troubled, Zak confides in Elliot, but the Welsh geek teases his friend, claiming that the dream may reveal Mercedes secretly wants to sleep with him. Zak cannot believe it when she turns up and tasks him to take her in hand. However, his fears are allayed when she reveals that she just wants him to train her for the Gladiator fight. However, things just get worse for him, when Cheryl appears and asks for his help too. Michaela doesn't look pleased to find her boyfriend grappling with two other women…

Sasha is getting tired of having to clear up after Spencer. It's a very difficult time for both of them, but he doesn't make things easy for her, when he storms off and throws tantrums when Warren's solicitor mentions taking The Loft. Convinced that Warren is still alive, Spencer does not want to let the club go yet. However, he does not know whether to reveal his secret to Sasha. Finding him too much to bear, she leaves to be on her own. Meanwhile, Spencer gets another text from Warren's phone, and he runs off to find him. However, expecting to see his brother, instead he finds Ash, who claims to know where Warren is. Is Ash about to take Spencer for a ride…?

Wednesday 8th July 2009

Leo and Calvin are doing their best to look after Spencer, but he seems to want to look after himself. They try everything to get on matey terms with him, but Spencer just feels smothered and storms off. When we next find him, he's with Ash in Relish. The scheming entrepreneur convinces Spencer to sell the Loft and to tell Calvin about his plan. When he does, Calvin seems unsure and Spencer walks out again, feeling frustrated. However, after talking to his dad Leo, Calvin decides to give Spencer what he wants. He offers to help him sell The Loft. Spencer and Calvin have reached a truce, but are they about to make a big mistake…?

Mercedes can't understand why Malachy's being so distant. After he told her that the doctor had given him the all-clear, she can only assume that his strange behaviour is down to the fact that he's gone off her. Meanwhile, Malachy is still in denial and he decides to drown his fears in the pub. When Mercedes sees Cheryl wearing a St. Christopher given to her by Malachy, it seems like all her worst fears are being confirmed. In the end, she has to confront Malachy, and this is when he comes clean that he didn't go to see any doctor. She doesn't take the news well and Malachy storms out. Eventually, it takes Kris and Cheryl to pull Malachy together and drag him to the doctor's…

Zoe and Nancy think that Hannah's marriage to Darren is hilarious, but the young bride is without a sense of humour. Her girlfriends try to convince Hannah that the best way to deal with her new situation is to have a proper hen-night and take her mind off things. It is difficult to forget everything however, when Darren keeps appearing at the flat bearing gifts. Suzanne is horrified when she arrives to find Hannah in such high spirits while her wedding vows are still hot off the press. However, Suzzanne only ends up forcing Hannah to do something stupid, as she pushes her to get a divorce and move back home. Feeling bullied and not wanting to be a 20 year old divorcee, Hannah drastically tells Darren that they are staying married and that divorce is not up for discussion. He can barely believe his luck…

Zak feels uncomfortable around girlfriend Michaela, after a second saucy dream, this time involving Carmel. On the other hand, he can barely stand to be in the same room as Mercedes or Carmel. Eventually he has to escape the house. Kris and Malachy find him training Cheryl for her fight and they cotton onto the fact that he is acting like a bag of nerves, but Kris already knows Zak's secret. When he lets something slip to Michaela, she flies off the handle. Zak is thrown out on his ear…

Thursday 9th July 2009

Spencer is still convinced Warren is alive and plans to sell The Loft to Ash so that he can run off with his brother today. He gets another text from Ash, pretending to be Warren. The message tells Spencer to sell The Loft to Ash, so that he can go to France with Warren. Spencer cannot wait to sell, and while Sasha protests, Calvin believes that they are doing Spencer a favour by letting him make his own decisions. Ash does also manage to win Sasha over eventually, and the deal is done, but when Spencer's solicitor tries to put the money in the bank he panics and the whole phone scandal comes out. Sasha and Calvin are furious with Ash for duping Spencer, but he protests that he did him a favour in buying The Loft. Meanwhile, Spencer has escaped. When Sasha and Calvin find him waiting for Warren Sasha has to convince him that his brother isn't coming and Spencer falls distraught into her arms…

It's the day of the charity fete at Il Gnosh. While Zak is busy hanging banners to advertise the event, an exhausted looking Ste emerges from the kitchen, having cut himself badly. Ignoring Ste's protests, Tony orders him to get the cut looked at. Over at the hospital, Abi stitches Ste up, but she clearly feels guilty for doping him with caffeine. On the other hand, Daniel is worried that Abi is going soft when he sees her turn up at Gnosh with Ste. She explains her fears, arguing that in Ste's condition, he could end up hurting one of the children. Abi thinks that she's convinced Daniel, but when later we find him spiking Ste's drink again later in the day, it's clear he will stop at nothing to make his plan work…

Zak is boosted when he wakes up from a dream about Michaela. He thinks that this may mean his girlfriend will take him back. When Michaela finds him helping out Cheryl at the charity fete, she is annoyed, but he manages to convince her to go for a drink with him. Cheryl is put out, but keeps up the charm offensive on Zak later in the SU bar, much to Michaela's annoyance. When the two girls bump into one another in the toilets, harsh words are exchanged and Michaela ends up hitting Cheryl with a door. For Zak though, it looks like his relationship is back on track…

Malachy is overjoyed when he gets the all-clear. Meanwhile, Mercedes is down in the dumps, thinking she's ruined things with her husband. He turns up just as she is beating Cheryl in the charity fete's Gladiator arena. But while Mercedes is distracted, Cheryl lands a lucky blow and fells her opponent. To make things worse, Mercedes has to watch on as Cheryl flings her arms around Malachy triumphantly. Mercedes storms off, leaving Malachy with Cheryl, who is over the moon after her victory. Eventually, Malachy has to tell Cheryl to respect his wife. Mercedes can't believe it when her foe turns up to apologise for her behaviour, but the truce doesn't last long, and Mercedes is furious when Cheryl claims she's after Zak now. In the end, Mercedes bumps into Malachy and they patch things up…

Friday 10th July 2009

Leo is determined to pull his family back together. Leo finds Sasha and Spencer at the Evissa flat looking at a photo-album of Warren. He tries to be supportive but Sasha just slams a door in his face. Spencer tells Leo he's worried that Warren may have died thinking he hated him. Leo feels out of his depth, but when Lauren offers to help, he brushes her off. Feeling unappreciated, she slams a door on him too. Meanwhile, Calvin offloads on Carmel, telling her how guilty he feels about letting Warren die and then not telling Spencer. Leo finds them both, and asks Calvin to help him with Spencer, but Calvin is coming apart at the seams. He comes clean to his dad about Warren's death. In the end, Leo has to turn to Carmel for help and she has some words of comfort for everyone as the family scatter Warren's ashes together. After the service, everyone is in a better mood and it seems like Leo has done his job of bringing to family a little closer…

Kris decides that he's had enough of Cheryl sponging off him. She protests that he can't throw her out when she's on the run for killing her ex-boss, but when it turns out that she's in the clear, Kris reminds her that she now has no reason to stay. He tells her to find a job at Steph's dance studio, or sling her hook. Desperate, she turns up at Steph's flat, where Malachy and Mercedes are decorating, and treats them all to an outrageous audition dance. Inevitably, she doesn't get the job. Down on her luck, she bumps into Zak, who is on his way to see Michaela, armed with flowers and chocolates. Michaela is annoyed with him after he helped Cheryl in her gladiator fight yesterday, and he's making up, but on seeing how down Cheryl is, he offers to buy her a smoothie. While they're at MOBS, Cheryl bumps into Steph again, and, sensing an opportunity, she asks for a job there. Left stranded by Cindy, Steph has to agree. It seems like Cheryl's luck has changed and she kisses Zak in celebration…just as Michaela turns up! He tries to convince his girlfriend that nothing is going on, and Cheryl helps by putting a good word in, but when she adds that Zak inadvertently helped her get the job so she could stay in Hollyoaks, Michaela is furious. Meanwhile, Cheryl returns to Kris's flat to break the good news: she has a job and she's renting the flat next to him. He can't believe his bad luck…

Steph decides she needs a new start. When she finds markings on the wall left by Max, she decides it's time to re-decorate and move on. However, Frankie is annoyed that she did not ask Jack first and warns Steph that hiring Mercedes and Malachy will lead to disaster. Steph ignores her, but when she returns home to find Malachy and Mercedes getting it on, with paint splattered everywhere, it seems that Frankie was right. When Frankie returns she finds Steph forlorn after her shocking discovery. However, Frankie picks Steph up, commends her for trying to move on, and agrees to help her do just that, any way she can…
