(Episode 5001)
Miles is surprised to meet Romeo’s sister, Mink, who seems a tough character, complete with a tattoo with the word “Killer” written on her. It’s clear that brother and sister haven’t spent that much time together and there is tension between them, but Miles invites her to stay in the Summer Bay House. Romeo tells Mink about his history with John Palmer. Mink and Romeo go to the Surf Club where John insults Romeo and Mink ends up punching him. Miles starts to wonder if this girl is big trouble.
Liam comes into the hospital demanding that his stomach be pumped. Martha visits Rachel and sees Liam tripping out on drugs; he praises Martha for her beauty. Liam eventually comes down from the effects of the drug and is fined by the police. The next day Liam comes around to confess to Gina about what happened; Martha is there and there is a moment between her and Liam.
Ruby is determined to help the refugees by taking care packages to hospital. They do that and see the hospital is crowded. Palmer is quoted in the newspaper as saying refugees shouldn’t receive free medical treatment. Ruby decides to hold a rally in their support. At the Surf Club a bunch of drunks are taunting Hazem. Leah suggests they cancel the rally in the wake of this hostility but Hazem insists it go ahead. That night Leah and Hazem walk to the Diner when they are attacked by the angry drunks. They are dragged into the Diner and a siege begins - Leah, Hazem, Irene, Geoff, Ruby, Colleen and Alf are trapped inside.

(Episode 5002)
The drunks start throwing Molotov cocktails at the Diner, setting it on fire. Inside, Geoff and Alf battle to put out the flames while Ruby calls the police and Irene looks after Hazem; Leah is in shock. Alf yells at the drunks to go away but they refuse. Outside the Diner, John tries to calm things down but has little luck. Ruby gets through to the police but everyone is tied up at a major accident elsewhere. In the Diner, another fire breaks out – Geoff burns his arm trying to protect Ruby.
Romeo goes to visit Xavier, bringing Mink, who immediately rubs Gina the wrong way. Romeo has told Mink about Xavier’s money and she takes some to go get some food at the Diner. They take off, with Gina a bit worried about the possible bad influence of this girl.
Miles has a game of cards with Rabbit, who claims she can see things. She says she has a vision of people hiding under tables, frightened. Miles, not taking it seriously, takes her to the Diner. When they see the flames and ambulances, Rabbit runs away. Miles helps chase off the rioters by pretending to be a drunk claiming the police are coming. Miles doesn’t tell anyone it was Rabbit who tipped him off. The police and ambulance arrive, taking Geoff and Hazem away to the hospital. Hazem is badly injured and Rachel has to operate on him.

Patrick interviews Martha and Irene, who find the experience cathartic. They try to get Alf to talk. Eventually Irene persuades Alf to be interviewed. During the interview, Alf is shown to be greatly traumatised by what happened – he says that Summer Bay has been changed forever.
The media also turns its attention to Liam, publicising his recent drug relapse. Nicole feels responsible for contributing to this. Aden goes around to see Liam and tells him that Nicole misses him. Liam goes around to see Nicole and apologises; they decide to try and be friends again. Nicole is stressing about whether she will get into her uni course or not. Aden tries to distract her by promising to take her out on their first proper date. Nicole finds out she didn’t get into her course and is devastated, realising she’ll need to repeat Year 12. Aden is supportive though, and promises he’ll be there for her.
Charlie is on her last day of holiday leave with Angelo. She keeps having nightmares about her experience with Hugo. She is also worried that when they get home Angelo will be transferred to the city. Angelo tries to be positive about it but he’s worried too. On the way back home, Charlie and Angelo learn of the riot – Ruby didn’t call Charlie to tell her because she didn’t want her to worry. When Charlie and Angelo get home they see a letter with Angelo’s posting. They decide not to open it until the next day, to have one more night of not worrying. But they can’t help themselves and open it – Angelo’s been transferred to Yabbie Creek. Charlie is ecstatic. She stops having nightmares and her day gets better when she is promoted at work – but then Angelo is promoted over her. Angelo will now be Charlie’s boss.
Alf tells Aden he is feeling a bit overwhelmed about things and admits he’s a bit sick of the Bait Shop and the Surf Club. Aden tells Martha, who checks on Alf. Afterwards Charlie insists again she is all right with the promotion but later on she admits she is really annoyed about it.
Angelo picks up that Alf is more traumatised by the riot than he’s letting on and might even be considering leaving Summer Bay. Angelo tries to highlight Summer Bay’s good points to Alf, pointing out how the town managed to embrace him again.
Alf goes to pick up Geoff from the hospital. Alf is still angry about the riot but Geoff is apparently indifferent. They go to see Angelo to give evidence about the riot, where Geoff seems to be snappy. Geoff eventually lets loose at Xavier. Later on he apologises and admits he feels overwhelmed by everything that’s happened. Geoff talks to Martha about his trauma and she encourages him to face the pain. Later on Geoff takes off his bandages, runs down the beach and shoves his wound into salt water.
Xavier goes to see Charlie to apologise for Hugo and to see if Charlie needs any money. Charlie, who doesn’t know about Hugo’s donation to Xavier, tells him not to worry about it.
