(Episode 5036)
Martha has agreed to think about Xavier’s request, that she let him stay at the Farm, as he can’t bear to be in the same house as Gina now that she’s having a sexual relationship with John. Xavier is already in his mum’s bad books, as John has informed her that last night Xavier threatened him and told him to stop seeing her. When Xavier arrives home, Gina gets stuck into him. Tony and Martha are also there but they try not to interfere, and opinions on how to handle Xavier are divided after he storms off to his room. Tony thinks Gina should come down hard on him, but Gina’s not sure and is left rattled when Martha reveals that Xavier has asked to stay at the Farm. Gina eventually decides to be tougher with Xavier and demands that he goes down to the Surf Club and apologises to John. But when he gets there Xavier can’t do it and abuses his mum who is left shocked and numb by his outburst. Later, Tony chastises a remorseful Xavier who admits he can’t control his anger when it comes to the John situation. Xavier knows he crossed a line in talking to Gina the way he did and goes home and apologises to her, but Gina has had enough and tells him to pack his bags. She wants him out of the house. Xavier can’t believe that his mum is booting him out.
Aden has been called to the hospital and is shocked to see his brother, Justin, there. The greetings between them are muted and it’s clear there’s some history between them as they haven’t seen each other in years. Justin is suffering from some memory loss – he can’t remember anything about the car crash he was in – but outside of a minor cut and a thumping headache he seems okay. The brothers eventually open up a little and, to Aden’s surprise, Justin reveals he’s in the army. Police interview Justin over the crash and seem suspicious about his memory loss which seems convenient, but Rachel confirms that it’s not unusual in Justin’s type of accident.
Rachel does however inform them about one puzzling aspect of Justin’s case – he was covered in blood when he presented, but other than a small abrasion on his head he has no other wounds. The mystery deepens when the police later reveal that they have found Justin’s car and that there was more blood on the seats and that it seems unlikely that Justin could have got out of the car without someone else’s assistance. It seems Justin had a passenger, but who was it? And where are they now?
Marilyn, having left Justin in safe hands at the hospital, searches out Alf at the Surf Club. He’s delighted to see her and, as he’s finishing his shift, offers to take her home and make dinner for her. Marilyn and Alf catch up over the meal and Marilyn reveals that’s she’s returned to the Bay for the “duration.” She touches on her brush with breast cancer, but doesn’t want to chat about “negative things” and Alf respects that. When Marilyn suggests it’s time for her to head off to The Sands, Alf suggests she stays at the house as she’s almost family. Marilyn hesitates, she’d like to run that past Miles first, Alf says he’s out right now, but she can ask him when he gets home.

(Episode 5037)
Martha helps move a subdued Xavier and his belongings out to the Farm, after Gina threw him out of home when he refused to accept her relationship with John Palmer. Both mother and son feel bad about what’s happened and are hurting, but neither is prepared to back down. Martha and Tony try to talk them around, hoping for some sort of reconciliation, but none is forthcoming. As Xavier tries to settle into the Farm he can’t help but see that Martha still cares a lot for Liam and correctly guesses that she doesn’t really want him to move out. Gina, left at home alone and with no one to put on a brave face for, looks at a happy family photo of her three boys and dissolves into tears. Has she now lost all of them?
Justin is discharged from hospital and is feeling physically better, but he still has only selective memory of his car accident. Aden offers to put him up and Justin is happy to accept the invitation. Aden introduces Justin to Nicole and it’s instantly clear that Justin is quite taken by his brother’s girlfriend. The two brothers slowly start to reacquaint themselves with each other’s lives, having had little contact for a number of years. Aden still finds it hard to believe that Justin is in the army and can’t help seeing the changes in him. Justin no longer drinks or swears and seems to have planned out his future. Justin believes he owes his turnaround in life to the army lifestyle and recommends it to Aden, but Aden tells him he’s quite content with his life. Justin only shows the odd glimpse of the temper Aden remembers he had, but it surfaces when the boys mention their father and grandad. It seems both boys share a similar disgust with their family patriarchs.
So far, Nicole’s internship with Britt has been a letdown. Nicole has largely been utilised as another pair of hands to do the menial work around the studio. There’s been no real design learning here. Nicole, feeling very dissatisfied, no longer even looks forward to going to the studio and decides to sort the issue out with Britt once and for all. But on going to see her, she’s shocked to learn that a buyer has rejected Britt’s new swimwear line. Britt, in a spot of bother, is keen to see Nicole’s swimwear designs and deems them to be very good. She and Nicole decide to work on the designs over night with a view to presenting them to the buyer in the morning. But when Nicole goes out to buy dinner, Britt signs her own name across a Nicole design.
Marilyn has moved in with Alf and Miles, and she rings in the changes from morning one. Gone are the bacon, eggs and milk from the fridge and in go healthy alternatives. No one in the household is very impressed, but it’s all done in good humour and they let it pass. However we can’t help but feel that trouble is just around the corner for these house-mates.

(Episode 5038)
Britt’s had her entire new swimwear line rejected by a buyer and is set to lose the contract. Britt was very taken by Nicole's deigns and decides to show them to the buyer the next day as her own. Nicole, delighted that some of her designs will be used and to say thank you to Nicole, Britt buys her lunch the next day before heading off to see the buyer. When Nicole drops by at Britt’s Studio later, she finds her setting out champagne glasses. The buyer loved the range and wants the garments in the store as soon as possible. Nicole can’t believe that some of her designs will soon be available in a department store. Britt’s invited some designer friends over to celebrate and asks Nicole to come to, but Nicole is disappointed when she then finds out that she’s expected to run drinks out to the guests. She still agrees and is excited when she overhears a designer friend of Britt’s complimenting Nicole’s work. She’s then shocked when Britt passes the creation off as her own.
Charlie, trying to sort out her commitment issues, has sort out professional help. She doesn’t find it easy to open up to Michael, but she knows she has to do it. Michael gets her to chat about her relationship with Angelo. Charlie agrees she still loves him and reveals how good Angelo’s been about everything. He’s giving her time and space, and has let her know that he’s there for her if she needs him. She really misses him. But Angelo isn’t actually coping with not still being with Charlie as well as she thinks he is. When he sees her awkwardly talking to Michael in the Diner, he draws the wrong conclusion. He even confides to Alf that he thinks Charlie is seeing another man. Alf doesn’t think that’s Charlie’s style and Angelo agrees, but it doesn’t alleviate Angelo’s paranoia that sees him follow Charlie to her counselling session.
Annie’s delighted that she and Romeo have both been cast in the title roles in the school production of Romeo and Juliet, albeit with Romeo playing Juliet and Annie playing Romeo. Annie feels sure that the romance in the play will spill over into their relationship. So far it hasn’t and Annie is becoming worried that Romeo has gone off her. She’s almost delighted when she finds out that Romeo is so nervous of being up on stage and the centre of attention that it’s already making him physically ill. Annie thinks that if they can rehearse on stage alone that may help Romeo’s nerves. The ploy sees the two reciting lines to each other as if they were the real Romeo and Juliet. With racing hearts the two, lost in the romance, nearly kiss, but are thwarted by the arrival of the rest of the cast. But we’re left in no doubt that things are definitely heating up between these two.

(Episode 5039)
Annie and Romeo recited lines to each other at their last rehearsal as if they were the real Romeo and Juliet and it’s enflamed their real life romance. The two are behaving like love-sick teenagers and people have noticed. Irene, noting the change in Annie, asks her if she’s any closer to deciding if she’s going to stay in Summer Bay or head back to Japan. Annie thinks she’ll have a decision soon. Despite feeling on top of the world, Romeo still has one pressing problem to deal with – the thought of being on stage, in front of an audience, makes him literally sick. As Miles tries to gee him up, he tells him the stage fright will pass and he thinks it’s great that Romeo feels so secure about himself that he isn’t afraid to wear a dress on stage. Later, when putting on that same dress for the very first time, fear grips Romeo and he can’t even leave the change room. Annie tries to coax him out and fails, and Romeo tells her that he needs to see Miles. When Miles arrives he finds Romeo’s confidence in tatters. Miles tries to hose down his fears, but the boy is adamant that he can’t perform in a dress, and quits the production. And Annie’s left devastated.
Elijah and Leah are enjoying each other’s company, but Miles, a confidant to both, is having trouble keeping their secrets and, in moments of weakness, inadvertently lets slip to each that the other has feelings for them. Miles is also aware that Elijah is troubled by another, deeper secret – one that so far he hasn’t opened up about at all. But it’s worrying him enough to suggest that he might put in for a transfer out of Summer Bay. Deeply troubled, Elijah chats around the issue with Alf who suggests that the Reverend may need to go to confession. Thinking about that, Elijah seeks out Miles again. But just before he can unload to Miles they are interrupted. Later, during his Ju-Jitsu class with Leah, Elijah feels awkward and teams Leah up with another student when it seems likely he and Leah are going to have to practice together. Miles and Elijah finally get to catch up and Elijah tells him what’s really bothering him. Elijah was at Vinnie’s deathbed, not years ago after the prison fire, but only 18 months ago when he died after a farming accident. Elijah feels he can’t have anything to do with Leah when he’s keeping such a secret from her.
Angelo fears Charlie is seeing Michael, her Counsellor, romantically, and he’s becoming increasingly desperate to find out for sure. He pretends to know Michael when he sees him in the Surf Club and manages to have a drink with him while trying to pump him for information. Later, while trying to gauge her reaction, Angelo tells Charlie that he has to meet up with Michael to discuss a tinny that he wants to buy from him. Charlie’s taken aback to know that Angelo knows Michael, and later, at her counselling session with him, she tries to draw him out about other cops he might know. Michael, however, is quick to shut the personal discussion down. Angelo’s becoming increasingly paranoid about Michael and it’s becoming concerning.
Friday 2nd April 2010
(Episode 5040)
Elijah has confided in Miles that he was at Vinnie’s bedside when he died 18 months ago and Miles has learnt that Leah still thinks he’s alive. Elijah is troubled by the secret and doesn’t know if he should tell Leah. He doesn’t want to set back her self confidence recovery and it troubles him that as they are getting close he’s hiding a secret from her. The whole thing weighs heavily on Miles too and he finds himself on-edge because of it. He’s annoyed at Marilyn when he can’t find his regular breakfast cereal and he unloads on her when she pushes him to do Pilates. At Rabbit’s behest, Miles tries to apologise to her, but when Marilyn calls Miles on his moods, he loses it and tells her he wants her out of the house. Marilyn is shaken, but sets about looking around for something else, Alf is very upset when he finds out what’s happened and calls Miles on his action and is quick to discern that it’s not really Marilyn who Miles is angry at. He tries to get Miles to open up about what’s really troubling him, but Miles resists. He does however agree that Marilyn should stay on and Marilyn, seeing that he’s sincere, agrees.
Thanks to Miles, Leah and Elijah both know they have feelings for each other and Leah is very keen to step things up and move things forward between them. She tries to confide in Miles about her possible options with Elijah, but Miles knowing the secret about Vinnie isn’t very supportive of Leah and she’s hurt by that which just adds to the pressures Miles is feeling. When Elijah shows up at the Diner, Leah decides the time is right to put her plan in action and she asks him out. Elijah is broadsided and tongue-tied and Leah interprets that as disinterest and starts to back away, but Elijah manages to recover and tells her he’d love to go out with her and Leah’s heart skips a beat or two.
Xavier’s bringing the last of his belongings from home to the Farm when Liam, arriving home, sees some boxes of Xavier’s things and, trying to be helpful, brings them inside. Xavier gets agitated when he sees Liam with his things and takes the boxes off him. Liam’s surprised at how protective of them Xavier is. Next morning when Xavier turns up with one of the boxes in his backpack Liam becomes a little suss, but when Martha teases Xavier about what’s in the box he tells her it’s letters and cards and stuff that Ruby wanted. Martha thinks that’s cute and buys the story, but Liam is less convinced. Later when Xavier is counting the money, to make sure it’s all there, Liam arrives home and nearly catches him. Seeing Xavier spooked and looking guilty, Liam is convinced Xavier’s up to no good and by the time Martha gets home he’s decided what he thinks is going on. He tells her he’s sure Xavier has drugs in the shoebox, but little does he know – Xavier’s overheard the accusation.
