Unaware of Hugo’s reappearance into the Bay, Rachel steps in with her two cents worth – she hopes Hugo’s okay but she doesn’t think he should return to the Bay. If he did, he could have some dangerous people following him, which means putting people he loves in danger.

Jill continues her flirtation with John and doesn’t seem to mind that John is seeing Gina. Gina catches them in the flirtatious exchange. John chases after her, pleading for Gina to understand. Romeo explains the situation to Xavier - his mother was cracking onto John Palmer. Xavier is thrilled – this could mean the end of Gina and John’s relationship. Jill soon reveals why she is in the Bay and hands over fifty thousand dollars to Romeo. She hopes this will help him forgive her. Romeo is astounded – this certainly doesn’t make up for anything. Jill isn’t going to be buying Romeo’s love anytime soon. Feeling like she was overreacting, Gina goes into the Surf Club to apologise to John. Jill comes striding up to John and after a brief chat, plants a kiss on Johns lips, Just as Gina walks in leaving her astounded.

(Episode 5077)

Romeo is apologising to Alf for his mum - once again Jill has woken up on his couch with a big hangover. Romeo makes things clear for his mum – he’s not taking the money because he doesn’t want to end up like her.

Angelo has been told by his superiors to discontinue his surveillance on Martha, but it’s clear to Charlie that Angelo is nowhere near giving up. Angelo gets a warrant for it and Martha is shocked to discover Angelo on her doorstep with the warrant while Hugo is inside. However the police search comes up with nothing and with the coast clear, Martha and Xavier go looking for Hugo. It’s then that Hugo, making his way out of the attic, crashes to the ground. Even though he’s injured, Hugo insists on not calling an ambulance or there’s a good chance he will be busted. When Rachel is called out to the farm on an emergency, both she and Tony are shocked to discover the emergency is in fact Hugo – he’s back from the dead and standing in front of them.

Angelo’s next step is to get new warrants for both Tony and Gina’s houses but Charlie thinks Angelo won’t have many friends left at the rate he’s going. The Austin family are suffering enough. Angelo finally cracks and realises how disappointed he is in losing sight of Hugo. In a flurry of disappointment and anger he finds himself downloading to Charlie, apologetic that he’s put Charlie and everyone else through this nightmare. Charlie insists Angelo hasn’t put her through anything and they are still friends. It’s then that Angelo realises just how much he misses Charlie in his life and they soon find themselves locked in a romantic embrace.

John begs for Gina’s forgiveness after she saw Jill plant a kiss on John. It’s the second time Gina has seen them together and it feels like the final straw for her. When John comes over to apologise further, Gina pours water over his ahead and tells him to leave her alone. Romeo reassures Gina that his mother, Jill, would have been the instigator when it came to flirting with John. It’s then that Gina feels like she may not have given John much of a chance to explain. She calls him and leaves a message, hoping to make amends. Gina’s concerns however are valid, considering Jill is still trying it on with John Palmer. He is firm with Jill as he explains to her that he’s not interested. Jill thinks that John’s kiss told another story.

(Episode 5078)

Leah tells Irene that Elijah has proposed. Meanwhile, Elijah’s main concern is that he proposed without a ring and now that he has a ring, he’s wondering if he should propose again – even though Leah’s clearly said that she needs time to think about it. But perhaps Leah might take him seriously now that he has a ring? With her ‘live for the moment’ attitude, Marilyn tells Elijah to go for it.

Charlie and Angelo break apart after their passionate kiss – awkward, confused and wondering what just happened. Charlie comes home and tells Leah about the kiss, while Angelo downloads to Alf. It’s clear from both conversations that Angelo and Charlie think it was a kiss that had intention. Nicole gives Angelo advice, telling him to act casual around Charlie. She thinks playing harder to get will make Charlie see how much Angelo is worth to her. Angelo takes Nicole’s advice and is aloof around Charlie. Soon enough both Charlie and Angelo decide to just jump in and ask each other out on a date.

Colleen has got into her head that Marilyn is flirting with Alf and her fury is palpable. When Colleen overhears Leah talk about an engagement, she gets her wires crossed and automatically jumps to the conclusion that it’s Marilyn who is engaged to Alf. Colleen approaches Marilyn about it, but of course Marilyn has no idea what Colleen is talking about.

(Episode 5079)

Elijah is a deer caught in headlights as Leah catches him holding an engagement ring for her – when he said that he would be happy to take things slowly. Leah talks to Irene claiming she has stuffed everything up with Elijah. Leah’s big concern is that she’ll hurt Elijah once more. When Elijah approaches Leah on the beach she makes her stance loud and clear – she thinks they should break up.

As Marilyn gives Alf a friendly hug, it is completely misconstrued by Colleen who happens to be walking by at the time. Colleen soon makes her way around to Alf’s house accusing him of ‘gallivanting’ with Marilyn in public. Alf explains it was just a hug but Colleen doesn’t believe a word of it, still thinking the two of them are engaged. Alf sets Colleen straight about the engagement but Colleen still thinks Marilyn has her eyes set on Alf. Marilyn comes up with a plan to teach Colleen a lesson.

While Liam and Ruby work on songs together, Ruby suggests perhaps putting together a whole album which Liam considers. Throughout their music session, Ruby finds herself watching Liam with romantic interest, which Nicole notices. Ruby talks to Irene, thrilled to be collaborating with Liam professionally. Irene on the other hand is concerned about Ruby’s school work. When Ruby finds herself again talking about Liam to Nicole, Nicole puts the question out there – have you got the hots for Liam? Ruby is floored and denies it completely. She has Xavier – she’s certainly wouldn’t hurt him again like what happened with Geoff.

Liam soon approaches Ruby telling her he agrees on the idea of doing an album which means they’ll be spending a whole lot more time together. During their brainstorming session, Ruby finds herself completely taken with Liam and feels herself falling for him – she pulls out of the moment and rushes away leaving Liam perplexed.

Friday 28th May 2010
(Episode 5080)

When Irene asks the question, Leah honestly doesn’t know if she wants to get married or not. Miles’ advice to Elijah is to fight for Leah. Irene considers if Leah broke up with Elijah so that Leah herself wouldn’t get hurt. When Elijah comes over to talk to Leah he explains the ins and outs of how he was feeling when he proposed – he is sorry he rushed into things. As Leah listens to him she realises things are a lot simpler than she thought – this man loves her and she loves him. Leah asks Elijah to propose again - will Leah accept?

Marilyn has explained her plan to Alf; let’s give Colleen what she wants – let her think we’re engaged. But for Marilyn’s plan to really work, she asks Martha for the ring she wears around her neck, unaware Hugo gave it to her. Martha agrees and Marilyn’s plan works. When Colleen sees the ring on Marilyn’s finger, she takes the bait. Marilyn plays up, telling Colleen that Alf gave it to her. Alf gives a good performance too and both are very convincing in front of Colleen.

Martha tries hard to keep the secret of Hugo staying at the farm. Thugs enter the Surf Club clearly looking for someone. When the thugs look to their photos we see an image of their targets – Hugo and Martha. The thugs soon make their way out to Martha’s Farm, scoping out the place. Inside the house, Martha is explaining her sadness to Hugo and how she knows he has to leave and it’s just a matter of when. Suddenly they hear a noise outside which makes them both jump. Dismissing the noise, it clarifies for Hugo why he can’t stay - they’re in too much danger if he stays. Neither of them realise just how close the danger really is.
