Monday 5th July 2010
(Episode 5106)

Romeo is still battling his mum and her alcohol addiction, but Jill is too stubborn to see she has a problem. Marilyn suggests to Jill that she get help and convinces Jill to stay a little while longer. It’ll be a good way to prove she’s not running away. Meanwhile, Romeo gets advice from Irene who explains that if Jill isn’t ready to accept that she needs help, then there’s nothing more anyone can do to help her see that - not even Romeo. Sure enough, Romeo comes home to find his mum passed out on the couch once again.

John approaches Gina, telling her that he and Jill are definitely over and how he wants Gina to make a real commitment to him. What do you have in mind – she asks? John's answer overwhelms her.

Things are tense between Elijah and Leah – both feeling the stress of having Elijah’s parents in the Bay and their talk of bad omens regarding the imminent wedding. Leah feels as though Elijah is being a pushover when it comes to his parents and putting Leah last on his list. Lijuan is also upset at Elijah for not defending Leah. Lijuan soon finds herself at the Diner telling Leah that perhaps she shouldn’t marry Elijah – he’s just a big marshmallow and not husband material – “he’s simply not up to handling what a marriage will throw at him”.

Indi and Dex are downloading about their time at Summer Bay High – wondering if each of them have discovered a love interest yet. It’s clear Indi has the hots for Romeo. She finds herself waiting outside the Diner for Romeo to come. He’s confused as to why she’s there and she gives him her phone number – she knows he’s going through a lot and if he ever needs anything, give her a call. Romeo texts her a ‘thanks’ which lifts Indi’s spirits.


Tuesday 6th July 2010
(Episode 5107)

Elijah is desperate to find out what his mother told Leah the night before. Lijuan reveals to Elijah that she simply put Leah in a position where she has to defend her man. And if she doesn’t they know she’s not the one. Elijah tells his mum to stop interfering. Meanwhile, Leah thinks it’s Lijuan’s way of getting Leah out of Elijah’s life for good. Song tells Leah to not let any bad omens get in the way of her and Elijah’s happiness. Elijah tells Leah that she’s more important to her than anything and they kiss and make up. Lijuan tells Leah that they observe tradition but they’re not slave to any omens. As far as Elijah’s parents are concerned, the wedding is still on. Lijuan and Song leave the bay on a happy note.

Romeo has taken Irene’s advice and decided to back off his mum and let her make her own mistakes. Jill pulls up when Romeo tells her that it’s her life and she can do what she wants with it. Jill talks to Irene who tells her to take the second chance that Romeo’s given her – she might not get another. Jill could lose Romeo forever if she stuffs up again. Indi is thrilled that Romeo is starting to open up to her. She convinces Romeo that people can change and he should keep his chin up. Meanwhile, Irene is giving Jill some AA literature, telling her she might consider going to a meeting. Jill tells Romeo she has decided to go to an AA meeting and he is thrilled, saying he’ll be there for her no matter what she needs. The pressure builds on Jill to be a better person.
Romeo comes down stair ready for school and finds Jill has left him a note – she’s left the Bay and abandoned her son once again.

When Penn enquires about Sid and Nicole’s past, she tells him that she put Sid through hell. She’s grateful that Sid pushed her away when he did. Penn offers to ‘fix’ things with Sid if he does ever hassle Nicole. Knowing Penn’s there for her, Nicole’s feeling closer to him every day as she kisses him. Penn goes to see Sid telling him that Nicole and Penn are casual and that Nicole still likes Sid – even though this is nowhere near the truth and we’re left to wonder what Penn is playing at.


Wednesday 7th July 2010
(Episode 5108)

Colleen has called the police to inform them that there is a naked man on the beach and that it is Sgt Angelo Rosetta, Charlie is shocked when they arrive to investigate and find that the drunk, disorderly and naked man - is in fact Angelo. When constable Avary goes to help Angelo up, Angelo punches him and winds up behind bars for the night.

24 hours earlier…


Angelo speaks to his lawyer in the hope he can get the charges against him dropped (after he set Martha and Hugo free). The arrest of the corrupt cop Eaves, isn’t helping Angelo case – they are cracking down on corruption even more so now. His lawyer tells Angelo he will stay suspended from his job until this is all sorted. Angelo speaks to Miles about his suspension – Angelo is under the impression he’s jinxed, thinking bad luck follows him around no matter what he does right. Angelo is tired of proving that he’s should be a cop. He worked so hard getting back on the force already. Angelo’s prosecutor makes him a deal – the prosecutor doesn’t want Angelo’s story to come out as it will mean a lot of bad press for the police department. Angelo can walk free on one condition - he gives up his career as a policeman. Will Angelo take the deal?

Marilyn introduces Alf and Miles to her ventriloquist doll - Mr. Oddly. Alf is very taken by the sight of the wooden doll, recoiling and disturbed - he doesn't like it one bit. Alf soon reveals to Marilyn that as a child he was introduced to a ventriloquist doll on his fifth birthday. The doll scared the living daylights out of him and he’s never recovered.


Thursday 8th July 2010
(Episode 5109)

When Alf sees the doll on the dining room table he snaps, grabbing the doll and forcing it into a sack. He leaves the house with it. Alf buries Mister Oddly. Miles wonders what Alf was doing out in the middle of the night with a shovel. Alf explains it away by saying he was burying a dead bird. But sure enough, by some force of magic, Mr Oddly finds his way back into the house, muddied and on their front doorstep. Alf demands answers from both Marilyn and Miles as to how Oddly got back into the house…but neither have answers – they just assume a dog took it and put it back on their doorstep. Alf knows that he buried Oddly so the whole thing seems impossible to him. Alf soon finds Mr Oddly footprints leading up to the house as though he walked there by himself…

Charlie is growing more worried about Angelo – he has no job and seems unhappier with each passing day. Angelo is feeling down and out after his arrest and his recent resignation from the police force. Alf offers Angelo a job at the Bait Shop, which he begrudgingly takes.

Tony is excited about the female boxing classes he’s starting up out at the farm. Tony reiterates to a concerned Gina and Rachel that it’s all about getting fit and motivated. Rachel is still clearly upset that Tony is going ahead with it regardless of her concerns. Gina confides in Rachel in regards to the proposal John put on the table – he wants her to move in with him. Gina wonders why she shouldn’t move in with John, the worst thing that happens is they break up. Now she just has to sell the idea to Xavier. Gina soon says no to John’s offer – but only because she’s got something else in mind – for him to move in with her and Xavier. John says yes and as Gina predicted, Xavier’s reaction is over the top and more than a bit disappointed.

Ruby is thrilled to hear that Liam has booked a recording session at a studio in Yabbie Creek. Now they just have to choose the songs they’re going to record.


Friday 9th July 2010
(Episode 5110)

Tony is disappointed when no girls show up to the boxing session he planned out at the farm. However, Tony is thrilled to realise he wrote the wrong date on the flyer. Sid is on Tony’s side when it comes to boxing - Sid assures him that boxing isn’t too dangerous, not with all the protective gear that needs to be worn. Tony asks if Sid can tell Rachel that – put her mind at ease? Sid offers to have them over to dinner and he’ll do just that. Over dinner, Sid voices his comments to Rachel who soon realises she’s been set up and is angry with Tony for making her look like a fool. Luckily for Tony lots of girls do turn up to the information session on boxing and he goes ahead with it.

Ruby and Liam are still searching for the perfect songs to record. Meanwhile, Ruby continues to keep her growing feelings for Liam in check.

Xavier is still wound up by the fact that he’ll soon have John Palmer as a housemate. Xavier soon warns him off, telling John that his life will be a living hell if he moves in with him and Gina. April didn’t think attacking John was the best thing Xavier could do – she tries to make him feel better with a kiss.

After dinner, Penn offers to show Nicole something. When she makes her way to his caravan he reveals a picture of Nicole that he’s been painting. Nicole starts kissing him and there’s no end in sight. Nicole finds herself waking up in Penn’s caravan having fallen asleep there. There is a thief at large in the caravan park. Soon we see Penn take all the stolen items in his possession and put them into Colleen’s caravan – he’s setting her up.

The sight of Mister Oddly still haunts Alf. Alf admits to burying Mister Oddly. But with the doll still present, Alf decides to get rid of it once and for all by throwing the doll into the Bay. But when Alf comes home later and looks in the dryer – he finds Mister Oddly inside it. Alf is completely and utterly thrown.
