Monday 26th July 2010
(Episode 5121)

Tony is thrilled the female boxing lessons are going so well. But Rachel isn’t feeling so great about her own job, telling Tony she thinks she might be bored. The excitement and passion Tony has for his job is making Rachel want more out of her own career. Tony is sure something new will come along to put the spark back into her life.

Just as Tony predicted, Rachel’s old friend Daniel, from University, arrives on the scene and he has an important proposal, which could change her life. Daniel’s opening up a new medical centre in Boston and he wants Rachel to run the emergency unit.

Leah is still reeling from the fact that Elijah is planning on doing relief work overseas for a few months. Irene’s take on things is that Elijah may be feeling like he’s letting go of his old life to make way for the new and there’s parts he may not want to give up. But for Elijah it’s simply that he’s always done relief work and it’s just part of who he is.

Leah tells Elijah that it’s okay if he needs to ‘prove’ himself overseas. Elijah pulls up at this, he doesn’t need to prove anything, which fuels another disagreement on the subject. Elijah soon realises that maybe he and Leah are rushing into things, especially if Elijah still wants to do a job that involves travelling. Elijah abruptly postpones the wedding.


Tuesday 27th July 2010
(Episode 5122)

Leah is confused as to why Elijah wants to postpone their wedding. Elijah and Leah talk back and forth with the reasons why Elijah needs to go and reasons why Leah needs him to stay. Then suddenly a curve ball is thrown in to put even more pressure on the couple, an earthquake in West Danmar. This is exactly the type of disaster Elijah would drop everything and run towards.

Meanwhile Tony is trying to get his head around Rachel’s new overseas job offer from Daniel. Daniel points out that Rachel is the most qualified for the job and Rachel is completely flattered. However, she reels off a list of reasons why she can’t leave and Daniel assures her that everything she has in the Bay, she can have by living overseas too. Rachel then gives Daniel a firmer ‘no’ but he doesn’t stop trying to convince her.

Penn suddenly turns up in hospital with serious cuts to his hand. When Sid wonders what happened, Penn claims he lost consciousness and can’t remember. But to Sid it looks like Penn has crushed something with his hand, and the whole thing seems suspicious. But things turn weirder when Nicole comes to pick up Penn from the hospital and Penn lies and tells her that Sid has a crush on her - not only that but Sid admitted it himself. All of it is far from the truth and Sid denies it but Nicole is tense and not sure what to believe.


Wednesday 28th July 2010
(Episode 5123)

After their ongoing troubles, Elijah decides to move back to the rectory for a few days to give Leah some space. Elijah admits to Miles that he does want to spend the rest of his life with Leah, but he also wants to spend the rest of is life doing relief work too.

Elijah soon makes a decision – he’s decided to go and help out with the current earthquake, but he reassures Leah that he will be back soon and he still wants to get married. But Leah doesn’t want a life, which involves yearning for Elijah to come home, and she ends the relationship then and there.

Marilyn is preparing a surprise picnic for Sid and while she’s at the diner picking up ingredients, she runs into Dex and introduces herself. It’s then that Dex realises not only is this his father’s new girlfriend but he is completely smitten with her. And when Marilyn receives flowers that aren’t from Sid, we’re left to wonder just who her other admirer is.


Thursday 29th July 2010
(Episode 5124)

Angelo is excited about the imminent opening of his restaurant – although there is a possibility the restaurant may not be ready in time. Even Alf is putting the pressure on Angelo, wondering how he thinks he’s going to open in time. Alf voices his concerns – he certainly can’t give him an extension and if he can’t open his restaurant, Angelo is sure to receive a penalty from the Committee. Or worse, they could cancel his lease or get another tenant in. But Angelo remains positive – with help by his side, he will get this done. With tradesmen soon cancelling on him, Angelo is feeling the strain – unsure if he believes his own words or if he will in fact make it on time.

Romeo admits to Alf that he and Indi are just friends for now. While talking to Indi, Romeo admits that he’s down on relationship in general, which concerns Indi. Romeo says he’s staying away from relationships for as long as possible.

April and Bianca have a small disaster at their rental property and after a fight with their landlord, they get kicked out. Xavier asks his mum if the girls can stay at their place, he’ll even lay off John for two whole months. Gina agrees.

Liam and Ruby are preparing their set list for songs to sing during their gig at Angelo’s opening night. Unfortunately for Ruby, Liam has invited Bianca along to the Angelo’s working bee. Ruby still has a crush on Liam and when Ruby tries to confide in Xavier about her love life, he doesn’t want to know.


Friday 30th July 2010
(Episode 5125)

Angelo continues to stress about opening on time while people organise a working bee to help out. He admits to Charlie that one of the main reasons he needs to open on time is because running a restaurant is the family business. He doesn’t want to taint the Rosetta name by opening a restaurant that doesn’t succeed.

Charlie has picked up on Ruby’s distraction during the working bee. The pressure is building with their upcoming gig and Ruby finds herself snapping at Liam, innocently. With Liam and Bianca seemingly flirting, Ruby cracks and excuses herself. Once she’s alone she succumbs to a flood of tears. Nicole approaches and Ruby admits that she loves Liam and decides to talk to him about it - but when she tries to, instead she kisses him.

Dex continues to hide his crush on Marilyn but manages to still flirt with her at the same time. His dad just puts it down to Dex being weird, as usual.

Romeo clarifies to Indi that they are just friends. Indi covers her true feelings and wholeheartedly agrees with him. He admits that the reason he doesn’t want to date anyone at the moment is because he’s still getting over the hurt of Annie and not sure he can put himself out there again. After Indi’s own romantic dilemma, she too says she’s not ready to play the dating game. During a game of twenty questions, Romeo asks Indi if she likes him more than a friend. Indi puts the same question back to him – neither of them answer but both share a hopeful smile.

Sid reveals his concerns over Penn to Marilyn, saying that Penn lied about Sid having feelings for Nicole. Meanwhile Nicole is feeling awkward in Sid’s presence. Sid finally does approach Penn, asking why he told the lie about the crush. Penn lies once again, admitting he thinks Nicole has a crush on Sid too, and by bringing it out in the open it forces the truth to come to light.


Home And Away will be off air for a four-week summer break from Friday 30th July 2010 will return to Five on Monday 6th September.
