Dominic Brunt (Emmerdale's Paddy) interview
Next week on Emmerdale, Paddy (Dominic Brunt) admit he has feelings for Rhona.

How does Paddy feel about Rhona breaking up with Marlon?
“He’s scared of it happening because he knows Rhona fancies him. He tries to get them back together because the alternative is just too problematic to consider. When Rhona admits she likes him, he's panicked. He knows they'd be good together but he says he’ll make it easy for Rhona by telling her that, no, he doesn’t feel the same way.
“It’s all lies because of course he does. But he knows Marlon will be devastated if Paddy starts seeing Rhona. It would rub so much salt into his wounds. If Rhona had been seeing another guy who meant nothing to Paddy it would be a different matter altogether.”
So what makes Paddy admit he has feelings for Rhona?
"He hears she's intending to leave the village and this shocks Paddy into action. He decides to make a move and show her how he really feels. One thing leads to another and they end up in bed but as soon as it’s over, Paddy’s wracked with guilt - and Rhona feels bad, too.”
What happens next?
“They've both told each other they want to be together and so they have to tell Marlon - that's a priority. Paddy’s really scared - he knows Marlon will be devastated. It’s inevitable that their friendship will be damaged, maybe irrevocably, and naturally Paddy doesn’t want this to happen.
“Paddy tries to tell Marlon but he bottles it, then Rhona tries but she gets cold feet, too. They then plan on telling him together - they’re almost caught by Edna which makes them realise they have to tell Marlon straight away.”
But then Rhona discovers she’s pregnant with Marlon‘s baby!
“Paddy immediately tells Rhona that they’re over before they’ve practically began. They can't be together now. But the next morning he apologises and tells Rhona that he’ll be there for her throughout the pregnancy and beyond. He knows she wants the baby - especially as she thought that maybe motherhood had passed her by.”
What happens when they pluck up the courage to tell Marlon?
“It's awful. Marlon’s goes off his head with rage and upset. He feels utterly betrayed. Paddy can’t see that Marlon will ever forgive him. Marlon’s heartbroken but quite and cold and calm with it - which makes it seem worse.”
