Kym Valentine (Neighbours' Libby Kennedy) Interview

Kym Valentine joined the cast of Neighbours as Libby Kennedy in 1994, but left 10 years later. Last June she ‘came home’ to her family in the soap on a permanent basis.

“Libby returns with her son, Ben, to look after her mum, Susan, who’s ill,” says Kym. “It was great coming back as I’d missed everyone. Becoming involved with a big, emotional Kennedy storyline is fantastic.

“Although it took me a few scenes to get back into the swing of it, I’m having a ball.

“As a kid it was my dream to star in Neighbours. That feeling has never left me. I’m so lucky to be here.”

Kym originally left Neighbours to spend quality time with her daughter, Millan, who’s now four years old.

Then, in 2005, she took the leading role of Baby in Dirty Dancing: The Classic Story on Stage in Sydney.

Kym, who is half Maltese, began her acting career in a McDonalds advert at the age of five.

Her TV credits include: My Two Wives; Adult Illiteracy; At Bathurst; Candid Camera; Brides of Christ; Home and Away; Swap Shop; Hoops TV and Cheez TV.

Neighbours makes its debut on Five on Monday 11th February 2008 in its traditional slots of 1.45pm and 5.30pm every weekday.
