Donna’s devastated to learn the criminal charges she laid against Saffron have been dismissed. She still has the option of mediation, but she’s frightened of facing Saffron again, and feels that no-one will believe her. She desperately wants Ringo’s support, but having promised to give him space to concentrate on his exams, she keeps him in the dark about her fears. Toadie and Elle are there to support her through the mediation, but once Donna comes face-to-face with Saffron, her bravery crumbles…

Elle has her doubts about her new job: how can she leave Donna and Lucas behind, even if it’s temporary? Lucas encourages her – this is exactly what she’s been waiting for. Donna will be fine, and so will he. But Paul calls Lucas on it – this job is exactly what Elle was born to do, but her leaving will mean the end of their relationship. Will Lucas sacrifice his own happiness to see Elle achieve hers?

Tuesday 26th January 2010
(Episode 5812)

Aware that this will be the last day he ever spends with Elle, Lucas struggles to keep his feelings in check. Determined to make the most of every last moment, Lucas whisks her away for a trip down memory lane. But Steph is horrified to learn that Lucas is holding the truth back from Elle, and – his conscience pricked – Lucas admits the truth: he won’t be joining her in New York. Elle decides to stay in Erinsborough, but Lucas pleads with her not to give up this opportunity, reasoning that one day she will resent him for destroying her chance of success. Ultimately, she decides to leave her friends, family and fiancé behind, but what demons will the end of his relationship arouse in Lucas?

Donna sticks to her false statement that Saffron didn’t hit her – until Ringo rides to the rescue with a new witness. But they still don’t quite re-unite, until Elle’s declaration about her love for Lucas inspires Donna to fix things once and for all.

Lucas is unable to sleep in Elle’s old bed and crashes at empty Number Thirty-Two. He resists Steph and Toadie’s efforts to keep an eye on him but Dan won’t be deterred.

Dan knows his brother’s tempted to gamble, and takes a tough-love approach, promising he won’t stop Lucas placing bets, but he’s also going to be right by his side. But Dan’s focus on his brother means a temporary neglect of Libby – just when she needs him most…

Knowing Sunny would be sent straight home if her parents found out about her cheating, she and Zeke are relieved when Libby decides to deal with it as a private, school matter. As they celebrate, Sunny finally declares her love for Zeke. But their happiness proves short-lived when Susan and Karl push Sunny to come clean to Mr. and Mrs. Lee about their relationship. Will Sunny’s parents end her time with Zeke once and for all?

Dan denies the charge, but shocks Libby with an ultimatum.

With the threat of the DHS mediation looming, Declan gives Harry an idea – he needs to improve his reputation.
