Despite purchasing tickets to Sydney as a back-up plan, Kate’s desperate not to have to run, throwing herself into preparing for her family’s DHS meeting. However, when she overhears Lyn forced to confirm Harry’s troublemaking past to Roz, a distressed Kate demands to know what’s going to happen to them. Roz reveals although it’s not entirely her decision, she plans to recommend Harry be taken into foster care. Seemingly doomed to be split up, Kate decides they’re going to run…
Libby agrees to move from Ramsay Street and start a new life with Dan away from her family. However, when Susan queries whether this is what Libby really wants, we see she’s sacrificing her own needs for Dan. Desperate to keep her daughter and grandchildren on the street, Susan pushes Toadie to speak to Dan, however it only manages to infuriate him more as he realises Susan’s still trying to meddle in his life.

Toadie rallies Paul to help bring the Ramsays back to Erinsborough. Guilty at not having been there for them, Paul does everything he can to help but it’s Rebecca’s ‘cruel to be kind’ solution of cutting off the Ramsay’s money that works. Stopped at a country roadhouse, Kate’s debit card is rejected and she struggles to keep it together. Seeing the toll on his sisters, Harry sacrifices himself, prepared to face the music if it means Kate and Sophie can stay together…
Fearing she’s been blacklisted from the fashion world by Saffron, Donna’s upset with Ringo’s lack of support. Ringo suggests it might be a blessing in disguise and allows Donna to find a worthier goal. Donna takes offence, angry Ringo’s implying his dreams of being a paramedic are more important than hers. Ringo insists that’s not what he meant; he believes she can do anything she puts her mind to. However Donna isn’t re-assured: the distance between them growing.

The Kennedy-Fitzgeralds head off to their holiday house. Everyone’s on their best behaviour until the end of the first evening when Susan brings up the topic of moving and Dan loses his temper. He feels the surrogacy is being held over him and he will always have to give into the Kennedys to prove his gratitude. As tensions escalate, the Kennedy family threatens to be torn apart.
The Ramsay family face their biggest test yet. Desperate to do something to help, Lou offers to step in as their guardian. Toadie warns it’ll be a tough sell but he might just have a shot.

Angry after his fight with Susan, Dan drives away from the holiday house, unaware she is in terrible danger. Libby and Karl find Susan and rush her to hospital, their fear growing for her life. When Dan ignores calls from Karl, it’s Steph who finds him and delivers the news. He rushes to be with his devastated family, but finds himself wracked with guilt…
With school finished and Sunny’s parents due to arrive soon, Zeke plans to share a programme of sightseeing. But when Sunny objects and points out they have the house to themselves, the day takes a decidedly different turn.

Wracked with guilt, Dan struggles to find the strength to comfort Libby in her time of need. Lucas overcomes his own problems to be there for his brother. He tries to mend the rift he can see forming between Dan and Libby, but is stunned by what Libby confides in him.
When Toadie and Callum realise they only have a day before one of Rocky’s guide dog tests Sonya comes to the rescue. Her group training exercise allows everyone the chance to have some fun, and brings her and Toadie even closer together.
