It's not just the latest albums and DVDs that we have to put up with being thrust through our letterbox each morning. Oh no. We also have to cope with all kinds of other random free stuff. It's a tough job, we know.

We like socks. We like monkeys. But WE FUCKING LOVE SOCK MONKEYS. The lovely people at teNeues somehow know of our obsession and have sent us over their rather fabulous new 'Sock Monkey' book, featuring photos of Ron Warren's collection of over 2,000 of the things, out now priced £12.50.
They're monkeys MADE FROM SOCKS! What's not to love? -

‘Hard Candy’ - the new album from Madonna, not the 2005 Juno-castrates-a-paedophile movie - is out this week, and last Thursday we popped along to a launch night thing, on the promise of free Madonna crap.
Unfortunately all we could find was a pile of postcards and a lolly with a Madonna sticker on it. Still, we took enough of the postcards to play Snap with...
Find out more about the album.

The South Park boys are back, with Paramount Home Entertainment releasing Season Six for the first time ever, and re-launching Season Three and Season Four, all available on DVD from 17th March 2008.
To mark the release, their lovely promo people sent us a t-shirt. We're hoping that the 'I'm Special' slogan is not a reference to our recent skateboarding attempts.

Packed with never-before-seen scenes, Jackass 2.5 Uncut DVD is released on 10th March 2008 by Paramount Home Entertainment, and to celebrate the release they kindly sent us over a Jackass-branded skateboard.
Unfortately not one member of the LastBroadcast staff had ever so much as stood on a skateboard before, but using a How To Skateboard For Beginners video on YouTube - which includes such essentials as "you have four wheels, one right there, there, there and there" - we've been trying to teach ourselves over the past week, with mixed (and very bruised) results.
Read more info on Jackass 2.5 Uncut.

(Our indoor skateboarding was short-lived after our fashion photographer attemped an ollie and fell into a pot-plant, sending the board flying across the office to take a nice big chunk out of the editor's brand new desk.)

Just a quick thankyou to Alex Zane who kindly gave us a plug on the XFM breakfast show this morning during a discussion about dead sea monkeys. (Even if he did get the editor's name wrong and read out our email address.) Alex Zane was so busy enjoying Robyn's Bee Buster game in our Distractions section that he had no time to play Snow Patrol - gutted. The Alex Zane Breakfast Show airs on XFM weekdays from 6am. -

Hoorah, more seasonal amazingness, this time in the form of Bee Movie stockings! From the makers of Shrek and Madagascar, and starring Jerry Seinfeld and Renee Zellweger, Bee Movie is in cinemas now.
We've not actually seen the film yet so we don't know if it's any good, but the stockings are most definitely encouraging us to say that it is. ('Job done' Bee Movie's PR folks!) -

Just in time for our Christmas celebrations, it's some Sia balloons! Featuring the singles ‘Day Too Soon’ and ‘Buttons’ (check out the awesome ‘Buttons’ video on YouTube), Sia's new album ‘Some People Have Real Problems’ is released in January 2008.
Sadly, since this photo was taken, Blue Sia Balloon has deflated and Pink Sia Balloon was impaled by a Christmas tree light. -

Hooray, more sweets! This time it's some (slightly suspect-looking) Gold Nuggets Bubble Gum, sent to promote Red Fox's 'Cows In Action' (CIA, get it?) book series by Steve Cole. The latest book, 'The Wild West Moo-nster', is published on 3rd January 2008 and sees 'Professor McMoo' try to stop an evil 'ter-moo-nator' getting his hands on unclaimed land in the Wild West. Everyone knows that you can clearly never have too many 'moo' puns in a book, so it will no doubt be amazing. Or amoozing even. Anyway, moo-ving on... -

Woo, an advent calendar! And a bag of creepy Halloween sweets! We've seen cheerier advent calendars to be honest, but it is to remind us about "horrifying slay ride" Black Christmas, and yeah, THEY SENT US SWEETS, so we'll let it go.
From the creators of Final Destination, Black Christmas is available to buy on DVD on 19th November 2007, courtesy of Pathe Distribution Limited. -

Robots In Disguise played at the Barfly in Brighton last night and we sent along two of our reviewers to take a couple of photos and maybe even write a review. Unfortunately they both forgot their cameras, but apparently the gig was "so good lol" and probably looked something like this:

Noel Fielding from The Mighty Boosh in the audience! Glowsticks! People dancing! Guitars!
Sadly, that was all the information our reviewers have been able to provide this morning.
