Episode 1
Tuesday 27th January 2009

Ian (Gerard Kearns) is attacked and left shaken and confused as to what he could have done to provoke it. When the stranger strikes again, Ian is left hospitalised and there's more bad news when he regains consciousness: he's got amnesia. Suddenly he's an alien amongst his own family and friends, and even his own sexuality is a mystery.

Meanwhile it's Debbie's (Rebecca Ryan) 16th birthday. Tom (Michael Legge) decides it's time to go public with their relationship, but Debbie has doubts about whether their relationship was ever really serious. Kelly (Sally Carman) has bad news for Shane (Nicky Evans) about her pregnancy; Frank (David Threlfall) and Monica (Annabelle Apsion) are faced with an impossible challenge when they hear the voice of newborn baby Stella: but do they want to know what she has to say about her parents and Chatsworth? And Ian's amnesia brings him a whole new perspective on his life, leaving him questioning if Chatsworth is the place for him after all.

With the launch night of the newly redecorated Jockey looming, Jamie (Aaron McCusker) and Karen (Rebecca Atkinson) are feeling the pressure in their relationship. The honeymoon period is well and truly over and tempers are frayed; neither of them can do right for doing wrong. With their marriage nearing crisis point, advice from family and friends isn't enough, but can a lesbian encounter put the spice back into their relationship?

In the wake of Ian's (Gerard Kearns) departure, Micky (Ciaran Griffiths) looks to expand his horizons. He enrols on a film course and, to his surprise, discovers a hidden talent, and some new friends: his tutor Liz and her husband Ady (Jonathan Lewis Owen). And there's another surprise for Micky when the couple introduce him to the world of swinging and seduce him into their bed.

Carl (Elliott Tittensor) ends up in A&E, where he meets auxiliary nurse Maxine (Joanna Higson) and takes up a job to befriend her. He introduces her to the Gallaghers, but Carl feels left out when Debbie (Rebecca Ryan) and Maxine strike up a friendship. Meanwhile Stan's (Warren Donnelly) attempts to bond with Chesney (Qasim Akhtar) and Meena (Sarah Byrne) land them in trouble with the police; Norma (Dystin Johnson) makes a grim discovery while refurbishing the Jockey; and Mandy (Samantha Siddall) meets a new man, Jamie's football team mate Joe (Ben Batt).


Episode 3
Tuesday 10th February 2009

Frank is shocked to discover he's been a victim of identity fraud and even more horrified that as a result his record has been wiped clean and he's eligible for jury service. But he's soon enjoying the perks of claimed expenses and, along with his fellow juror and new friend Helen, conspires to delay the verdict for as long as possible. But what effect will their close relationship have on the case?

Meanwhile, Micky and Shane scam tourists with their "Madchester" tours in Micky's limo. But when the complaints start to come in, Carrie is on Micky's case. And when he tries to escape through a derelict building, both Micky and Carrie end up handcuffed and trapped together. Soon the unlikely pair are sharing their private thoughts and things turn very intimate for Carrie.

When Tom is unimpressed by Stan's efforts to cheer him up a prank war ensues. And with her own kids grown up, Mimi is feeling broody. Next door, little Katie can't settle at night in the Gallagher house because of baby Stella, so Mandy decides it is time to move home; but not back home. Mimi isn't going to like Mandy's new choice of abode...

Monica (Annabelle Apsion) feels neglected when Frank (David Threlfall) rejects her sexual advances, and she's determined to get her groove back: while Frank sets out to prove he's capable of house work, can a hypnotist night at the Jockey provide the answer for Monica?

Carl's (Elliott Tittensor) new job leads to a sexy encounter. But when he can't go to the toilet and is diagnosed with an STI, he embarks on a mission to inform all his past sexual conquests. Meanwhile, the Maguires are outraged when they discover the grave of their son Fergal has been desecrated. Paddy (Sean Gilder) sets out to catch the culprits, but a female stranger catches his attention instead.

Karen (Rebecca Atkinson) offers Mandy (Samantha Siddall) a bikini wax to impress her new boyfriend Joe (Ben Batt). Micky's (Ciaran Griffiths) relationship with the married "shag buddy" couple hits a wall when he discovers the true sexuality of one of them. And Jamie (Aaron McCusker) sends a dirty text message intended for Karen to the wrong mobile phone.


Episode 5
Tuesday 24th February 2009

Karen and Jamie's relationship is rocked when Karen suffers a miscarriage. Both unaware of the pregnancy, the two try to come to terms with what's happened. However, the Maguires' OTT reaction to the loss of a 'grandson' only heightens tension and friction in Jamie and Karen's relationship.

Debbie is pleased when Liam wins a modelling competition she entered him in. In the interest of a cash prize and photo shoot in Blackpool to be the new face of a campaign, Debbie is determined to keep it hush from Monica - but when Monica gets wind of this, she invites herself along on the trip much to the family's disappointment.

Meanwhile Tom takes his and Stan's prank war too far, the result of which could have detrimental consequences for Tom and Stan; and Carl makes a list of the sexiest women on the Chatsworth estate to the annoyance of the female residents. Love blossoms for Mandy when Joe proves he's a trustworthy bloke when left charge of the Jockey.


Episode 6
Tuesday 3rd March 2009

Paddy (Sean Gilder) wakes up disorientated, chained to a bed in a strange room, unable to remember where he is or how he got there. When Maureen (Julia Ford) comes in things seem a little clearer: they've been secretly seeing each other since they met in the graveyard. But when Maureen refuses to release Paddy or tell him what she plans to do with him, he's even more worried. Is it all a sex game or something much more sinister?

A DSS investigation causes tension between Frank (David Threlfall) and Monica (Annabelle Apsion), and when Frank fails to change the DSS inspector's mind, he begs Monica to win the inspector back over: but will he regret relying on Monica? Meanwhile Carl (Elliott Tittensor) schemes to discover Micky's (Ciaran Griffiths) sexuality; Tom's (Michael Legge) last-ditch romantic gesture to win Debbie (Rebecca Ryan) back backfires; and Carrie (Amanda Ryan) decides it's time for pastures new.

Tuesday 10th March 2009

Ian (Gerard Kearns) returns from his travels unaware that a car he's driving back to England as a favour for a friend harbours a secret cargo. It's Paddy (Sean Gilder) and Mimi's (Tina Malone) anniversary and, with a party planned at the Jockey and still no sign of Paddy, Mimi becomes increasingly worried about his fate.

Debbie (Rebecca Ryan) and Maxine's (Joanna Higson) shoplifting trip goes horribly wrong when the two girls find themselves locked inside a shopping centre over night. Shane (Nicky Evans) and Kelly (Sally Carman) are horrified when they realises their private sex video is being sold around Chatsworth - who is the culprit?

Tuesday 17th March 2009

Paddy (Sean Gilder) is back and harbouring a dark secret. Desperate to conceal the truth of his whereabouts, Paddy spins Mimi (Tina Malone) a lie, but he has vengeance on his mind. Struggling to maintain the will power to control his enforced heroin addiction, Paddy relents to his cravings and secretly shoots up. Despite Paddy's best efforts to hide his addiction, Kelly (Sally Carman) discovers the truth, but will she tell anyone?

Things are slowly returning to normal in the Gallagher household following Monica's (Annabelle Apsion) departure. And when Frank (David Threlfall) is told he has inherited a home the family celebrate a new start. But will Frank want to leave Chatsworth?

Meanwhile, after Kelly resigns from Lillian's (Alice Barry) brothel, she and Shane (Nicky Evans) scam unsuspecting male clients in hotels across the city, until a sting goes horribly wrong for Shane. And Karen (Rebecca Atkinson) applies for a wedding licence but when she ignores Jamie's (Aaron McCusker) suggestion that he should become part licensee he deliberately ruins her chances of getting the licence, resulting in all-out war.


Episode 9
Tuesday 24th March 2009

Following Shane's (Nicky Evans) accident no one is sure if he will ever be the same again after he is left partially paralysed. Battle lines are drawn between Mimi (Tina Malone) and Kelly (Sally Carman) as they go to war over who will help aid his recovery; with Shane trapped in the cross fire.

With the departure of Monica (Annabelle Apsion), Norma (Dystin Johnson) is left contemplating her own future on the Chatsworth estate. She embarks on a journey back to her past and an old face offers her a chance for a fresh start, but is it what Norma really wants?

Meanwhile, with tension mounting in his marriage, Jamie (Aaron McCusker) settles back in with the Maguires; and alarm bells begin ringing for Karen (Rebecca Atkinson) when she suspects all is not right in Mandy (Samantha Siddall) and Joe's (Ben Batt) relationship. Karen wanders into dangerous territory when her interfering results in something she will ultimately regret.

Tuesday 31st March 2009

The Gallaghers receive a letter from Liam's (Johnny Bennett) school summoning both of his parents to see the head teacher. With the family forced to appear conventional, Norma (Dystin Johnson) steps into Monica's shoes. And when they discover that Liam has earned a special scholarship, Frank (David Threlfall) steps up to be his chaperone, but could his actions jeopardise Liam's chances of a brighter future?

Meanwhile, Patrick (Sean Gilder) becomes increasingly agitated as Mimi (Tina Malone) takes control of his addiction. She sticks to him like glue, determined to help him get off the smack. But what dark secrets will their closeness reveal? Tension between Jamie (Aaron McCusker) and Karen (Rebecca Atkinson) reaches breaking point when Karen sacks Jamie. Jamie demands his share of The Jockey in cash, and Karen's worst fears are realised when Joe (Ben Batt) steps in to buy Jamie out.

Meanwhile, Lillian (Alice Barry) gets a surprise visit from her son Rodney (Gerrard Thompson). Rodney's strange behaviour soon puts Lillian in an awkward position and she has to take precautionary measures. Mickey (Ciaran Griffiths) gets caught with his hands somewhere they shouldn't be; and Kelly (Sally Carman) recruits Meena (Sarah Byrne) to do Shane's (Nicky Evans) physio, but will Meena's work become too physical?

Tuesday 7th April 2009

When Jamie (Aaron McCusker) finds out Joe has been battering Mandy (Samantha Siddall), he puts Joe (Ben Batt) in hospital. With Jamie's previous murder conviction, the Maguires refuse to let him go back behind bars indefinitely; so Mimi (Tina Malone) steps into the breach and takes the rap for her son.

With a rival clan on the horizon and Patrick (Sean Gilder) feigning illness to hide his addiction, this is the last thing that the Maguires need. The pressure falls on Jamie to take over the family business, but will he step up to the plate?

Ian (Gerard Kearns) is angry with Liam (Johnny Bennett) when he discovers that he has been skipping school. He finds out that Danny (Louis Kissaun) is responsible for Liam's absence and suspects that there is more to it than meets the eye. When Ian finds out that Danny has been looking for his father, and learns about his violent past, he questions his own treatment of Danny, but is it too late to stop Danny doing something he'll regret?

Meanwhile, Patrick (Sean Gilder) goes cold turkey and faces his demons, but can he come out clean and make a fresh start? And Mimi (Tina Malone) is more concerned about Patrick's past infidelity than her own uncertain prison sentence; is their marriage broken beyond repair?

Mandy (Samantha Siddall) is under mounting pressure to leave Joe (Ben Batt); and Yvonne (Kelli Hollis) disapproves of Meena (Sarah Byrne) taking her modelling career in a raunchy direction.

Tuesday 21st April 2009

The Gallagher unit is rocked when an unexpected visit from the social services catches them off guard and the family fall apart. In the aftermath Debbie (Rebecca Ryan) unleashes her fury on Frank, which propels him on an almighty bender, but can Frank realise the solution to their problems won't be found at the bottom of a pint glass, before it's too late?

Every teenage boy's fantasy becomes reality for Chesney (Qasim Akhtar) when he is introduced to a married housewife who pops his cherry and he quickly falls head over heels. Soon he discovers that love isn't always straightforward as he slowly unravels the truth about Lorna's (Lizzie Roper) intentions.

Tuesday 28th April 2009

Yvonne (Kelli Hollis) is confronted by a ghost from her past: the consequences aren't worth thinking about, and Yvonne has to think fast to keep the truth from Chesney (Qasim Akhtar) and Meena (Sarah Byrne).

In the Gallaghers' battle to win back Liam (Johnny Bennett) and Stella, Frank (David Threlfall) becomes a domestic god and struggles to stay straight, but will his sobriety ruin his hopes of getting them back? Debbie (Rebecca Ryan) resorts to a more drastic course of action, until she realises that the answer may be only a few doors away.

Meanwhile, Mimi (Tina Malone) is released from prison and finally gives Patrick (Sean Gilder) her take on the future of their marriage. But she's shocked when Patrick refuses to submit to her terms and their marriage reaches stalemate. And one of Lillian's (Alice Barry) punters has a strange request.

After managing to upset everyone, Frank (David Threlfall) gets cast out for the night by Debbie (Rebecca Ryan). He seeks shelter in a confessional booth where he overhears a neighbour's shocking confession. Frank is soon unwittingly drawn into the secret murder, intrigue and lust of the Chatsworth residents; and to tell or not to tell is the question, because whatever he chooses the consequences will be dire.

The marriage of Mimi (Tina Malone) and Patrick (Sean Gilder) is beyond redemption, but the Maguires don't see divorce as an option. Soon Mimi thinks up a way to end the marriage for good, but will Patrick retaliate before it's too late? Joe (Ben Batt) and Mandy's (Samantha Siddall) relationship reaches a new level. And, when Ian (Gerard Kearns) announces his intention to leave the Chatsworth estate, Liam (Johnny Bennett) comes up with a plan to make him stay.

It's been a tough year for the Chatsworth residents: they've survived benefit fraud, brothels, stints in jail, stings gone wrong, fake suicides, cold turkey, lesbian romps, lingerie parties, abandonment and a family torn apart and put back together again; what else could possibly happen?

Patrick (Sean Gilder) has lost his grip on his marriage and family. Still haunted by dreams of his kidnapper, Patrick resolves to banish his demons and take back control. On a mission, he tracks down Maureen (Julia Ford), the woman responsible for what he has become: and the Maguires will never be the same again.

Frank (David Threlfall) becomes a self-styled martyr when, to his horror, he discovers his child benefit has stopped. He sets out on a rampage of justice in an attempt to get it back. Meanwhile, Maxine (Joanna Higson) still harbours secret feelings for an oblivious Carl (Elliott Tittensor). When he embarks on a VIP night out, blagging his way into an exclusive club, Maxine comes up with a plan to teach him a lesson and show Carl where his true feelings should lie. And as Mandy (Samantha Siddall) prepares to move in with Joe (Ben Batt), Karen's (Rebecca Atkinson) guilt gets the better of her and she braces herself to tell Mandy her shocking secret.
