Skins recommissioned for Series 5 & 6
E4 has ordered two new series of teen drama Skins - as producers begin their search for an entirely new set of teenagers to star in the show, find out how you could join the cast!

How many episodes will the series be?
Series 5 will comprise eight 60-minute episodes and will again be written by a unique team of young British writers and teen contributors, with series creators Bryan Elsley and Jamie Brittain.
John Griffin, executive producer says: "We are delighted to be given the opportunity at Company Pictures to create a new cast of Skins for another two year run of the show. It was a hugely brave move for both us and E4 to change the second cast two years ago, something probably never done before in British television drama. It proved successful and we are now equally excited about presenting the third generation Skins cast. We believe that by doing this we are able to keep true to the original aims of the show. A show for young people, devised by young and played by young people."
Why will there be a new cast again?
Camilla Campbell, Channel 4 Head of Drama says: "Skins has always been about new talent, both on and off screen, and the decision to recast the series every two years is one of the reasons Skins stands out as a truly distinctive show. It's a testament to the talent and commitment of Bryan Elsley and his team that they are able to pull this off. Now another group of teenagers will have the rare opportunity to be part of a British drama series that says something about their lives and is one of the most exciting shows on television. I can't wait to find out who they will be."
How can you audition?
Open auditions for Series 5 and 6 will take place in Bristol and London in April 2010. Auditions are open to anyone born between 1st July 1992 and 1st July 1994 (ID will be required). Under 18s will need permission from a parent or guardian.
Auditions will take place on the dates below:
Bristol - Monday 12th April (call backs on 13th April)
London - Thursday 15th April, for those born between 01/07/92 and
01/07/93; and Friday 16th April for those born between 02/07/93 and 01/07/94

When does filming begin?
