Episode 1: Lindsey's Story
Thursday 8th July 2010
Lindsey is a talented, ambitious diver with the 2012 Olympics in her sights. Her routine begins, as always, with a 6.30am alarm and her father, Stewart, driving her to the local swimming pool for her morning diving practice. After a day of school and yet more gruelling training, Lindsey's world starts to crumble when her dad announces he is leaving her mum, Jacqueline. Lindsey and younger brother, Matty, are left to deal with their father walking out, while their mum's new boyfriend has already moved in.
That night Lindsey decides to go out for the first time with best friend Hailey. She finds herself drawn to Robert Wisley, the popular boy at school - particularly with the girls. Meeting Robert, Lindsey discovers there is more to life than school and diving. For the first time she's totally distracted as she falls in love with Robert.
Lindsey is brought back down to earth by diving coach Alison, who tells her the British Olympic team selectors are going to be at her next diving competition in London. This is the opportunity Lindsey has been waiting for. Lindsey and Robert are inseparable but their honeymoon period quickly ends when Lindsey is attacked by an ex-girlfriend of Robert's. She ends up in hospital, where she discovers that she is pregnant.
As Lindsey continues to train with more determination than ever, the team selectors are so impressed by her that they want her to take her diving training further and train officially for the Olympics. Lindsey must make a choice: Olympic success or motherhood.
Episode 2: Robert's Story
Friday 9th July 2010
Suddenly the king of cool in the playground finds himself with a girlfriend, in love - and about to be a father. To add to this his older brother, Alex, is due back from Afghanistan. While he cannot wait to see him, his imminent return has brought back feelings of Robert's own inferiority in the face of his heroic and successful brother.
Robert chooses to confide in Alex about Lindsey and the pregnancy, but Alex is struggling to deal with his time serving in Afghanistan and cannot believe that Robert would even consider bringing another life into this world.
Robert and Lindsey decide to keep the baby. They continue going to school and move in together. While their friends carry on with teenage life, they are setting up home together and discussing which pushchair to buy.
As their new life begins to take shape, Lindsey starts to have second thoughts about abandoning her diving career. Robert finds out that she intends to start training after the birth to try for the Olympic team again. He cannot believe she has been making these plans behind his back. When Robert receives a text from Lindsey to say the baby is on the way he must choose between his old life, or to stand up to his responsibilities as a father.
