Drink once whenever...
- Homer says "doh" - drink double if someone else says it.
- Homer says "mmm" while thinking about food or drools - if both at the same time, drink double.
- Barney burps.
- Maggie falls over or sucks her pacifier.
- Marge growls.

Drink twice whenever...
- Bart makes a prank phone call.
- Lisa plays the saxaphone.
- It's a "Lisa episode" - drink double if it involves an environmental good cause.
- Nelson says "ha-ha".
- Dr Nick says "hi everybody!".
- Krusty is all defeated and depressed.
- Mr Burns is completely oblivious to Smithers' love for him.
- Principal Skinner's mother yells "Seymour!" - drink double if he follows this with "yes mother" or "coming mother".
- Moe gets a weapon out.
- Mr Burns says "excellent" or puts his hands together - if both at the same time, drink double.

Drink three times whenever...
- Homer starts strangling Bart.
- Sideshow Bob appears.
- Itchy And Scratchy is on the TV - drink double if the theme tune is played.
- A special guest appears - drink double if they're playing themselves.
