Neighbours Drinking Game

Drink once whenever you hear any of the following (now with helpful translations!)...

- OJ (orange juice)
- Sunnies (sunglasses)
- Stickybeak (nosey person)
- Rapt (pleased)
- Ute (utility vehicle)
- Spunk (good-looking person)
- Mate
- Good-on-yer (well done)
- Arvo (afternoon)
- Doofuss (idiot)
- No worries
- Spew (throw up)
- Pash (kiss)
- Salvos (Salvation Army)
- Spiggin'
- Ambo (ambulance)
- Strewth
- Wagging (bunking off, skiving)
- Delish (delicious)
- Tragic (lame)
- Stoked (pleased)
- Mongrel
- Woop-woop (any middle-of-nowhere town)
- Rack off (fuck off)
- Jerk
- Bogan (pikey, chav, white-trash)
- Bludger (layabout, sponger)
Drink twice whenever...
- Someone opens the door to leave just as somebody else is about to knock.
- Comedy incidental music kicks in.
- You spot an actor's publicity photo being used (e.g. framed in one of the houses, at a character's funeral, etc.).
- A character gets a txt message on their phone, clicks "Read" and a voice-mail message plays.
- The writers make the most of the hospital set being up by having half the cast injured or falling ill in unrelated incidents within one week.
- A former character is mentioned.
- The OC or Jamie Oliver are mentioned.
- A recurring guest returns (e.g. Gino, Tim Collins, Sheena The Nurse, Dr Levi, etc.).
- A male cast member is shirtless or a female cast member is in a bikini - drink double if it's for no logical reason.
- There's a flashback or dream sequence.
- You spot a backdrop painting in studio scenes.
- An excuse is made for a character being absent as the actor's not in the episode (e.g. "Rachel's out walking Audrey" or "tell Bree to stop sulking in her bedroom").
- A character is accidentally spoken to with the actor's name.
- An actor's hair changes style and/or length between interior and exterior shots within the same scene.
- A stock exterior shot is used that's out of date (e.g. the shot of Lassiter's from five years ago with the old sign up).
- You recognise a former cast-member of Prisoner Cell Block H, Round The Twist or The Sleepover Club.
- Anyone sings - drink double if this sequence goes on insanely long.
- You spot an extra over-acting in the background in an attempt to get discovered.
- You spot an extra "on loop" walking back and forth, or coming in the door of Scarlet Bar or the General Store twice within the same scene.
- An actor awkwardly holds their post-shock-revelation face while waiting for the end theme tune to kick in.
- There's a shameless racial stereotype (e.g. Liljana Bishop saying "There's an old Serbian saying..." followed by a cliched expression that is used totally internationally, Connor playing a tin whistle, comedy Italian music, Mishka's descriptions of Russia as if it's still the 1920s, Carmella's mafia family, etc.).
- Harold goes "ah" at the end of a scene.
- Susan says "good-o".
- Susan and Karl allude to any form of sexual activity.
- Karl is tight about money.
- Rosie rolls her eyes, frowns or says "oh p-lease".
- Frazer makes a... dramatic pause and/or suddenly EMPHASISES a word in the middle of a sentence.
- Lou and Harold bicker - drink double if Lou calls Harold "jellybelly"
- Susan or Bree are reading a book.
- Carmella moans about something.
- Lou does his Sid James laugh.
- Rachel gets in a strop.
- Zeke says some random fact, blurts out the truth, or does his sad face.
- Pepper sneezes, jumps up and down, or says something random.
- Baby Charlie does an evil stare directly into the camera or starts hitting someone while they're trying to do a scene.
- Elle or Paul's characters change completely within an episode.
- Paul Robinson does his Thunderbirds-esque wobbly head thing when a female is trying to talk him round.
- Paul gets kidnapped and/or nearly dies.
- Lawyer Toadie and Stupid Joker Toadie are both in the same episode.
- The writers attempt to justify a ridiculously unlikely medical situation by having Karl Kennedy say "it's not uncommon for...".
Drink three times whenever...
- Someone gets amnesia or goes into a coma - drink double if they wake up from a coma with amnesia.
- A character returns, played by a different actor.
- An actor returns, playing a different character.
- Oscar has a line or just steals a scene in some other way.
- A (non-regular) black or ethnic character appears - drink double if they're not an extra.
- A character is told they'll never be able to have children.
- A character who has been told they'll never be able to have children gets pregnant.
- A previously unmentioned relative turns up unannounced on the doorstep.
- The title sequence is updated - drink double if there's a totally new design.
Past characters...
- A member of the Timmins family use a made-up word.
- Lyn or Sky have a new hair style - drink double if it somehow looks worse than the previous style.
- Katya pouts.
- Lyn says "like" or "y'know".
